This is Hubris, a sci fi action adventure game made specifically with VR in mind. Taking more than a few ideas from Half Life Alyx, Hubris injects the Alyx gameplay model with some light crafting and a robust movement system that includes climbing, swimming, and jumping. When Hubris launched 6 months ago on PCVR, it was applauded for its amazing visuals but was lacking in some other key areas. Developer Cyborn has put a lot of effort into making Hubris a better game since then, so stick around while we out the PSVR 2 and Quest 2 versions through their paces and see if Hubris is worth your time and money.

Totally agree about the guns and combat, I'm using the pistol all the time too... Used the machine gun once and the shotgun once 😅 Nice that they consider a real eject and insert feature. But guns glued to hand fels very dated restricting. Even an RE4 pistol drop would be fine. This game even on quest has its wow moments, really enjjoy the climbing and swimming. Combat is very reminiscent of Tales from the galaxies edge. Although worse...

You can swap weapons faster by dubble tapping the button to draw the gun. No need for the menu

i actually literally only do this and it’s great, i’ve had people ask me how my pavlov movement is so good watching my clips on Facebook and i’m just like i’m actually turning it’s more immersive and works better 😂

Graphics wise, they are close. Red Matter 2 is sharper, but Hubris has more ambitious set pieces. Red Matter 2 is a puzzle game with some combat, whereas Hubris is more aimed at action.

Psvr 2 will look better than quest 3. For myself, the visuals are the biggest reason to play this so psvr 2 is my vote - Ryan

PCVR. This is the PSVR 2 and Quest 2 versions. The developer also did alot of work on the game since the PC launch.

Need trackers for elbows . Liking look of it , wish more combat but decent enough concept to put up with the other . I hate crafting … like loath it . Has to be a quick and move on or get all koolaid man lol put up with a lot of I like somethin though . Always good to know what gettin into fully . There is NO game on planet that everyone gonna like . Always find that a weird thing to say , I known people that thought google earth “ best “ VR game lol . That guy might just not be as into a game with a gun at all making this not even option . All just like diff stuff , reviews hard . Good job 🤟🤟🤟

For me they're important. However i cant play a game exclusively based on graphics. For example, if Hubris is basically a more beautiful version of Star wars: tales from the galaxy's edge, then I'm going to have to skip it. I found thr fetch-and-carry quests to be monotonous and the gun play (which is a major part of the game) was just shoot-from-the-hip style, which for me just isn't good enough

@@VRGRID idk if you’re comment was directed at me or not, but for me a lot of times games with more realistic or high fidelity graphics tend to ether feel way too easy or like they’re on auto pilot. Granted, I don’t think the ladder applies to VR games, but that’s how I generally feel when it comes to games with “good” graphics.

This is will probably still be a game I’ll skip. For some reason the games with the best graphics tend to be stupidly boring to me (an example I have that I had similarly thoughts to as you did to this game is Tom Raider 2013), although that might just be a bias towards cartoony styled games and indie games (as I’ve probably shown a LOT). To be fair to the game and devs though, I’m glad they’re trying to fix the game though.

Holding circle or triangle button brings up a weapon wheel. You move your hand over the selected weapon for a second and release.

Holy moly, the PSVR version is waaay smoother. I use Oculus Pro and it's nowhere near as crisp. Also on another note, I didn't get all the materials (apparently) so I can't proceed past the final crafting machine AND YET I can't go back and get more stuff. Seriously flawed approach. I don't feel like starting a new game after all that. It's just not that fun.

The game has 3 difficulty levels you can choose. But I would recommend hard if you want to extend your game time.

Thats right, but if you had the graphics be free you would just include them right? That is kind of how it went, graphics were just used correctly and were not the big time cost. We just have the right poeple who know what they are doing using the tools that were available. We didn't invent the renderer. The gameplay is where all the energy goes to get something as good as possible within the budget. And there lies the trade-off where the '20x of our budget' games have more wiggle room.

Your making it a low resolution discussion. Graphics will assist in the immersion which massively important and one if the reasons for vr, Immersion. However a game can't rely on graphics alone which more accurate.
