Hubsan make really good drones for the price. Impressive!
@alvincura64405 жыл бұрын
This is absolutely my favourite drone. It's cheap enough that I can be ballsy with it. I've flown it low over water, the camera is amazing for the price, the jello can be cleaned up. It's inexpensive, I carry three batteries. It's light. I've crashed it due to dumb stuff, and it still flies. My favourite piece of fun toy, without a doubt. I've had mine for a year now. Do you still fly yours for fun?

Hi guys, in the hubsan app you can set the altitude of the waypoints and also set the point of interest, where the camera points to while doing the auto fly functions. Works pretty well on my 507a.

I became aware very recently of this idea of a controller connected by Bluetooth to the phone that is controlling the drone via wifi. The drone I saw (the first one I ever saw with this concept) was the Yuneec Breeze. I wondered how effective this type of controller would be, so it was very interesting to see in your demo that it works well.

Thanks for another nice test! A friend at work was just asking me for a recommendation for a beginner drone around $100. You just saved me a lot of research! Actually I was looking for your "Best of 2017" video when I found this. I have a suggestion. With drones that can flip, try it while flying forward at a decent speed. Most will do a big loop, which looks pretty cool. Thanks again for all you do.

Yeah this one is pretty great for that $100 price point :) We do need to make our best of videos. Believe it or not they are actually much harder to edit than a standard video like this :) Happy Flying to you and your friend!

It is 20 degrees...at night...Crazy. I keep watching and truthfully, it just confuses me to see so many different quads available. Now it seems the folding arm quads are the most popular. Dutch is giving away a very small FPV quad that seems pretty fast. As I am getting into Nitro powered stuff more, Being a small engine person I dont know why I didnt get into them sooner as they are right up my alley anyways. I still wouldnt mind getting a quad just to take pictures and stuff. Truthfully, no one races quads in this area. There are no groups or anything available. I could speed around trees or whatever I guess. I really enjoy my planes more,well and helicopters,if anything more for the extreme challenge. I think my goal will eventually get a nitro helicopter. Eather way, you two have really helped me keep up on my hobby. I still like playing with my furybee and that flying car has been nothing but fun! The neighborhood kids love it!

I did a search for skipping in the comments and did not find any, so I will leave mine. Hubsan frame skipping in recorded video can be one of two things. One, the sd card isn't fast enough for the 1080p bit stream or two, I've heard of them skipping if the volume label on the card wasn't blank.

I've been through six (6) Hubsan H507A drones; every one of them has blown a motor within the first several weeks despite my having practised good "brushed motor hygiene" throughout the brief lifespan of the drones. :-( So I snagged a Hubsan H216A hoping to have better results...well, I didn't. I unboxed it, charged the flight battery, and tried to bind it via WiFi on my cellular telephone handset. All appeared normal for approx. 25 seconds, then this cloud of bluish-grey acrid smoke began to issue from the underside of the drone's fuselage. When connected to its battery now, everything looks & sounds normal (the sound I'm referring to is that faint high-pitched whine that all Hubsan GPS drones emit) but the drone does not generate a WiFi hotspot, so it's totally unflyable and is essentially nothing more than a $116 paperweight. :-(

Good Morning Saylors! I just woke up enjoyed my favorite RC channel's latest offering, to start my day off, right! I read another viewer's comment asking about the quality of the SD card you used. And wondering/suggesting if you try a high-class rated card for speed (try and find a newer one, as I have read that sd cards can lose their efficiency over time) to see if it helps with the dropped frame problem. (And if it does, it would be a great reason for a followup video ;) The camera isn't the culprit or the streamed video would have been equally bad. It could be DVR inside the drone, but it would be an easy test with a super fast sd card! Loved the change of venue! JP

Hey there, new sub here, and I have one of these on the way; it will be my first drone. I almost went with a $50 drone, but the 1080p video on this one, along with the GPS, and onscreen telemetry made this one a no brainer for me, at this price point anyway. I also picked up some extra batteries, and a wifi booster. Have you ever tried a wifi booster, it is supposed to extend the range to around 300m? Thanks for the awesome videos, they were instrumental in helping to make sense of what options are available on drones these days. And thanks for your unbiased opinion.

Some of us are starting. to put landing gears on our Hubsan 502 body.type ,eBay sells the landing gear for 3.88,to keep the dirt out of the drone, the new 502 E and s now come with people guards on them already installed, my E didn't have them so I bought a set, I am a beginner still, my Hubsan 502S came with prop guards
@TheRcSaylors6 жыл бұрын
It's definitely a good idea to add the guards for newer pilots :)
@scottfirman6 жыл бұрын
Ron Thompson I wouldnt think of flying without some type of gear. I even cut the guards away but keep the landing gear. Grass,and especially dirt can really mess up the motors, even on a crash the gear helps keep at least two motors out of the dirt. I avoid dusty dirty areas if I can.

Flight time for days. Shame about the video from the sd card though. I wonder if there would be a firmware fix available, if not now then maybe in the future? Or are manufacturers like hubsan more likely to just put that particular fix into a new product rather than make it available for a current product?

Hi guys, I have a couple of Hubsan quads, brushed and brushless, and am generally impressed with the "bang for buck" they offer. What micro SD card do you use? I found that unless I used something like a Samsung Pro class10 type card, I would get dropped frames and other anomalies in the captured video. Definitely worth getting good cards. And what's with the beard being on and off in your latest videos?
@Thecaptnjp6 жыл бұрын
Buddy C Very good idea about the sd card quality/speed. Lets hope Nate and Abby respond. I, too would like to know. Maybe they could do an update video if after testing the difference and seeing an improvement.
@scottfirman6 жыл бұрын
Buddy C I agree on the memory cards. there is a little number printed somewhere on the card, I was told you have to be careful not to get anything below 10. The lower priced, cheaper memory cards do that too.
@GaryTabarJr6 жыл бұрын
the faster cards now are not only class 10, but also u3. u1 cards are too slow for faster framerate/higher def video. On my note 8, i cant use anything less than a class 10 u3 card. Fortunately, best buy and amazon regularly have under $40 sales on the samsung 128 gb cards.

Question: Can you fly the drone with the transmitter only?
@jromc5 жыл бұрын
Not sure if you got the answer to this question, but nevertheless the answer is "No". The transmitter is connected to you phone via bluetooth, it doesn't connect directly to the drone. This might look like a handicap but it is actually making the flying distance only dependable on WiFi signal, which can be extended further with the proper device, rather than dependable on both WiFi and RC signals.
