I’ve had my zino mini se for a couple of weeks now and I’m very happy with it. It’s very stable in flight, takes amazing videos and photos and is extremely easy to fly. Thanks for the great video, it confirms I bought the right product for once. 👍👏👏😜

I was looking into getting a mini drone and at first leaned to the Hubsan mini pro. After seeing many reviews on it and some of the negative issues,I held off. Especially the overheating which negated the obstacle avoidance. So when the SE came out and the reviews were positive, I took a chance. I had previously gotten a Fimi mini , actually 2 which I sent both back . Also I only buy from a dealer that is easy to return the product. This leaves out any overseas outfits. So I got the SE from Amazon. Very happy with the purchase.
@jormol2 жыл бұрын
What was the issue with the Fimi's? I am also hesitating between these 2 drones. Especially the differences in tracking would be important.
@jvrotter2 жыл бұрын
The issues I had with the Fimi mini was when they first came out. I had connection issues and one had a motor issue. Since then I got another one on sale. As far as tracking goes both work ok although I just did some basic tracking. The Hubsan does have follow me mode while the Fimi doesn’t. Picture quality seems better with the Fimi and video is about the same with both. Just my opinion on both these drones. Also the Hubsan has better range.

I just got my Hubsan Zino Mini SE delivered this morning. I believe that most issues some people had were or could be fixed with minor adjustments and the benefits and bargain price outweight the negatives.

Great review. Listening to your review, IMHO the Hubson Mini SE seems closer to the DJI MINI 2 not the Mini SE. The reason I say this is because didn't you say the Hubson SE had a 4k camera, whilst the Dji SE only has a 2.7k camera. For me this would make it closer to the Mini 2 for a review point of view. Yes the dji SE is an updated Mini 1 but really the SE is now a little long in the tooth and outdated. PS: great to see a variety in colours

At first I was only interested in the Zino Mini Pro, but really don't like the fact that you can only get them with build-in memory; no way of on-the-go securing your footage unless you bring a laptop. Both the Zino Mini Pro AND the Zino Mini SE seem to suffer from jitters while decending, or at least that's what it looks like in YT videos. Could you please look into that while putting your copy thru its paces?

Thank you for your very comprehensive and unbiased review. You mention the size of the phone holder, and ok it's probably too small for even a mini tablet. But assuming you still have the drone (or the Mini pro) please would you be so kind as to measure the maximum size accepted. It's a figure that one hardly ever sees, certainly not in the literature. But as I don't yet have a 'smart' phone (I currently fly a Fimi A3 which has a built in screen on the controller) it will be useful to know the capacity of the controller. I do have a small tablet, and could probably knock up an extension to the existing holder. Looking forward to your flight test! Thanks again.

Great review i do agree with alot of your points comparing the advantages of the SE to the mini pro and as such made me purchase an SE as well even though i have a mini pro. Flight time and SD card is a big positive! Downloading from the drone is a big hassle unlike the Fimi x8 mini which allows you to download files wirelessly to your phone directly via app. Hope hubsan does the same. Rick, are you aware that there is a difference between registering your drones and registering YOURSELF? If you register your drones properly, you need a reg. no. for each drone (like helicopters have). If you only have one reg. no. for every drone, then you have not registered the drones but, instead, registered yourself in the database and that gives the FAA a different legal recourse to seize all of your drones if there is only one infraction on one drone. By reg. all of them under your one number, you have effectively shot yourself in the foot, because when the FAA 'grounds' your reg. no., then not just that one drone is grounded, but every single drone that number is on. I took a professional drone course when I was thinking of starting my own drone company and the head instructor pointed this fact out shortly after the Part 107 was being given to drone pilots. He said that you should never register yourself, but each drone individually. Yes, that means $5 per drone instead of $5 in total, but if you are an avid flyer or professional and not just a once a month hobbyist, then I would look into registering 2 or 3 drones separately that you may want to insulate from that if it were ever to occur. Just something to think about. Always love your content and looking forward to seeing more in the future. =8-) EDIT: I understand what you meant when you said this drone looks like the pro version, but a correction is it looks like the DJI Mavic 2 design, which preceded the Hubsan pro model. Since DJI was first, I give THEM the credit, not the knock-off. (Which is funny considering both are Chinese) heh heh
@Dronevalley2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the post but I'm confused by your explanation. The FAA only offers 2 types of drone registrations - hobbyist and professional (part 107). With the hobbyist registration you pay $5 for 3 years of registration and receive a number you can use on all of your drones. With the professional registration you have to apply for each of your drones and have a different number for all of them. The FAA doesn't "ground" drones the way they do with other aircraft and simply impose fines if you cross a serious line when flying. I hope that clears things up a little. Rick

Where can we find substantive Hubsan reliability and customer service information (not just unboxing and flight demonstrations) to make an informed purchasing decision?
@Dronevalley2 жыл бұрын
Randy, I'm sure there are a lot of folks flying this drone so the reviews on Amazon and elsewhere are a great source of their experiences. I can only present my experiences through these videos and this particular one was intended to show you what comes with the kit, taking a closer look at the unit explaining how to use and providing some comparison to other options you might be considering. I hope that helps, Rick

@@Dronevalley My question was not meant to be critical of your review but rather was an honest attempt to find a source of real information about Hubsan. Unfortunately, a recent personal customer service experience with Hubsan was such that I would not recommend Hubsan unless they could provide quality/timely US-based service. My own email dialog with Hubsan took days to complete based on almost incomprehensible English sentences. In the end, it didn't go well for me. If nothing had gone wrong, I wouldn't have known what Hubsan customer service was like. But when something negative did happen that's when I found out I made a bad purchasing decision.

@@Dronevalley Thanks so much for taking time to provide thoughts to my question. For me, I now think one answer to my question (which I don't think I posed to well) may be "who provides quality US-based customer service"?. Dji, Autel, etc? I don't think Hubsan does at the moment. 🙂

Hi! Nice test for a nice drone. Do you know, if they fixed the issue with the elevation changes while active tracking? It's a little sad, because the tracking mode seems to work good. But if it doesn't adjust the height compensation to you while your movements uphill or downhill, it's useless for sports shooting. Do you know if they will change this with an update?

@Lon Denard I think personally the Mini SE, going off other reviews is where Hubsan should have headed from the get go to compete directly with the Dji Mini 2.. The crazy amount of s£it they tried to cram into the Mini Pro and expect it to work was in my eyes impossible and.. Still is..They really did bite off more than they could chew. Now on the other hand the Mini SE stands a fighting chance with its follow mode and way points and if they can get the color science right with stable Jello free footage. We will see. But it's sad to say Rick's pro enthusiasm about Hubsan is slightly suspicious to being on the verge of fanboyish especially to the point he makes about Micro USB and USB type C. Anybody saying Micro USB really doesn't bother them with large file size data transfer is quite frankly lying..... and sadly NEVER any mention of their atrocious ongoing track record regarding their after sales service

So, can you fry an egg on the heat sink of this one, like its 'pro' brother? (ha ha). Probably haven't checked that out until you fly it. Please comment on its heat when you post that VIDEO (note that I did NOT say "footage"). A side by side view of VIDEO showing both the Hubsan Mini SE & DJI Mini SE would be beneficial. Cheers.

Bill, thanks for the post and the heat issue with the Zino Mini Pro is really overblown. I know that some channels like to exploit andy small issue they find with a drone to generate controversy (and clicks) but it's not that big of a deal. The drone does get warm on your desk when transferring files but it's just fine when flying since the air passing the heat-sink cools it off. I did a clip showing the relative temps on the Mini Pro and will be sure to test this new one as well.

It's coming soon along with a few other drones that I've been dying to get airborne. I never want to put a new drone up in freezing temps until I have a better feel for their flight characteristics. That's the best way to lose a marvelous machine to the elements. I normally sneak in a trip or two south each winter for test flights but none so far this year.

Thanks for the post and I'm not sure what you didn't agree with in the Overview but I stand behind everything I said. The Hubsan Mini SE is a decent sub-249g drone that flies well and has some pretty advanced software for the price. I've been flying it since it's release and it's performed very well. I agree that there are other, newer drones that can do more but they are much more expensive as well.
