jitters, jello or jerky videos. well what I am noticing is actually pretty strange. and I have feedback that to Engineer already. its not jello, its not jitters its not jerky sticky video. it seems like this happens only to left part of the video taken slight left of center. I believe its something to do with some kind of Image algorithm going on there. Honda and Suzuki boosters never disappoint :D lol hahaha. thanks for your feedback buddy

Thanks for doing this test. Your strategy was definitely sub-optimal for maximum range, but it still managed to return with about 30% battery, which is impressive. The RTH seems to be pretty high speed - over 11m/s, so if you had a tailwind on the outbound leg, I'd expect to see only 9m/s or so on the headwind RTH. For range flights, it helps to have a rubber band to hold the tick forward, and a folding chair and a travel cup of coffee! :)

Well done (Gàn dé hǎo) alishanmao. This is the test I have been waiting for. Not only for connectivity but also for actual battery life during a long flight. I note that you flew in a fairly congested area but over the river and at the max legal height of 120 m. It would seem that Hubsan’s Syncleas.3.0. works ok. I will probably order the Mini Pro for Christmas “inshallah”. Thanks again for all of your testing of the Mini Pro.

Thank you for noticing the right facts buddy. Note one thing that i had antennas pointing upward when drone was 5km away. so to say I am going to do this test again in same area (cluttered with frequencies) and this time same range, same route but with antennas pointed to drone properly. then I will bring it to rural area (out of city) and see if i can go 7km and back. stay tuned for that. Pssst (Today i flew 500 meters altitude) LOL

Thanks for doing the range test! I agree about repeating it with the antennas directed towards the drone like you stated, it would also help to fly into the wind (low wind lol) and back with the wind. That way you should be able to go to 50-55% battery and still have battery remaining when you're back to home. You are also right about Marcus @Idaho Quadcopter having his Tahoe clean all the time 😁

That's a great test thank-you. It puts to rest the myth that it's only dji can do this. Signal is the Same with the mini 2 flies out fine turn around and the rf signal don't wanna know 🤣.. hopefully dji will use the occusync 3.0 with 4 antenna on the next mini to stop all this. But for a small entry level drone it does superb, once again thank-you 👏 so do the sound effects come as standard or are they extra 🤣🤣🤣

Salam, great long range test flight Brother. Thinking of tests, I want to test the new props from banggood that are meant to be a bit quieter than the normal Mavic Air 2 props. You said it would be best to test indoors due to me downloading a free noise app to test sound as if tried to test outdoors other sounds would effect sound. I am a bit worried flying my MA2 indoors as do not want it to crash... With no gps indoors will it just use altitude hold and stay steady and is manual take off best to use at about 3 or 4 feet and record sound Ali? Also, for manual take off indoors, is it both sticks pulled to bottom right hand side my friend?

Wassalam. When you take off with mavic pro indoors, it will stick to one point in the air that you will be wondering if its glued to that point hahahaha. I do this with my mavic air 2 when I need to drain the batteries, i will leave it hovering in one room with bottom LED light on, and when battery is 40% i will land and store so no worries on that

@@waddac2 indoors i suggest you pull sticks and then take off. in Auto take off it will not hit the ceiling but given the height of your ceiling it may get pretty close.

The instruction manual I got with mine is a VERY small one so do not even read it or try to. To manual take off is it both sticks down and pull sticks away from you ie..... right stick down and to the right, left stick down and to the left both at the same time? Once landed after the test is it same thing to shut motors off buddy? And also, do I need to still put my phone and attach USBC cable like flying outside or can I just use transmitter and hold my phone to record the video and another phone to record sound as got an app on my old google pixel 3 just for this demonstration video?

@@waddac2 yes that is right buddy. and when landing, just keep holding the throttle to zero position and rotors will stop. then you can pick it up. you can also just hold the drone from under (carefully not to get in props) and Hold the throttle to zero till motors stop and this is the way to land in hands. do not try it though please. no need to put on phone or app, good thing about dji you can fly them without phones or app.

Hey there 1. its 249g drone 2. it was a windy day 3. i was flying in sports mode in those winds to cover distance. 4. i recorded in 1080p just to have a reference, not for aerial filming. For any cinematic video you have to fly less than 3m/s speed. and at those speed this drone shoots very good quality videos. you can see that in my upcoming videos

You will need to turn off GPS take off option in settings. After that you can turn off phone, disconnect cable and you can do line of sight joy flights with it. Upon return battery was still 27%. Given that I flew mostly In sports mode and returned against the winds flying halfway in sports mode.

Well also my antennas were pointing upward so that could cause the issue too. I will do the same flight again with antennas pointing to the drone and if turn back i lose signals I will try to fly backward and see if video stays or not. That will confirm the location of antennas. I will also do the test in rural areas and see if I can go 7km ,😊

Hi Ali, at around the 7 minute mark when the App crashed / you had an issue with your phone, the drone appears to stop and hover rather than continuing to return to home. Can you test initiating a return to home and then stop the app. Will you also test just powering off the remote to see the drone returns to home for loss of signal? Thanks

Hi ali, thank you for the range test review of the Hubsan Mini Pro. The antennas in the drone seem directional where the signal was lost after turning the drone around facing you. Did you record in 1080P to minimize the drone temperature rise and conserve battery? The overheating issue reported by other's is something that needs to be explored more. Could you please do some tests on a hot day with the drone recording at the maximum bit rate with the drone hovering? The heating issue may be a deal breaker for many. Thanks again for all your testing of the Hubsan Mini Pro drone.

There is only one guy who reported overheating issue. Rest so many people received and flying this drone never reported any such thing. I have done another test specially on this which i will upload soon. and I will repeat the test on hot day too. Normally when drone is flying no matter you hover or fly and shoot 4k. it will never over heat because props give all the cool air that keeps it cool. most of the heat will occur when drone is sitting on the ground idle and on. though FPV is still off. so i plan to perform leaving drone on the ground for 2 to 3 minutes and test heat sink temp, fly and hover with 4k video recording on for 3 minutes to test temps on heatsink and fly and back for same time frame with 4k recording on. stay tuned. do able. because thats what I am doing almost daily with this drone testing. I fly, drain the whole battery, land, immediately swap battery with the fully charged battery, take off again as soon as drone is connected. no issues at all. you can even do this for 3 or 4 batteries.

Hi thanx for the video Shan. I know nothing about videography, but I think the video quality at Hubsan is a lot different than at DJI M M2. There is a blue quality in the video which is not natural. Can it be fixed in Settings ? This is not to say that the drone is not good and there is no debate about your ability, I said what I saw with my own eyes.

Ali that's a good video and a good test for a good drone, but...I think that for a range test you (and also many others) should go higher: at least 200 meters (or, better, 300m); in this way I think that the signal is "better"...don't you think so?

Default RTH height was far more than 200 m. I forgot to take it into account. "Going up" takes a lot of battery. Almost crashed my drone. I thought of emergency landing in the middle of nowhere. Thanks God, succeded to land on 1% (litterally) of the battery. Besides that the drone yelled at me "Land immediately", it yelled "you are going to destroy your battery" or "Such a low level is not healthy for a battery" . Thanks God, everything OK.

Thanks for the all the great testing. I'd like to get a sense for what the flight time will be when flying in purely in normal mode. Hubsan claims 40mins (with the typical disclaimers....when flying at x meters/second with no wind and likely flying the battery to 0%). Of course I wouldn't expect that you'd get 40 minutes but I'd like to see what one might noramally expect to see when flying in normal mode (nothing crazy). Obviously your results will vary depending the conditions but I'd like to get a sense as to what might be expected. Is it 35mins? 30mins? 25mins? etc. Also can you tell us at what %battery does RTH kick in and at what %battery will it initiate landing (i.e., you'd have to use the sticks to keep in in the air) and at what %battery it will initiate a forced landing (i.e., no stick movement will keep it from landing). It would be great to understand these type of limits. PS. Maybe you should bring some bug spray with you. 😉 Thanks again.

Thanks for watching. as per my testing in normal mode, I am getting 32 to 35 minutes flight times, and landing with 12% or or so battery. Battery management system calculates automatically depending upon distance when there is point of no return and warn you for RTH that will activate in 7 seconds. you can cancel it on app and keep flying or activate it. to cancel RTH just cancel it using the icon on the app.

I have chosen Mini 2 two days ago. FCC 5.8 is not allowed in my country and there are convenient hacks for dji to unlock FCC

Zhuzhou City hunan province of china. and yes this area is cluttered with 2.4g, 5g, 433 and 933 and many other bands. plus when you get close to high speed train that train is running on extreme high voltage because it can take 400km speeds. (normal running 300+) previously i have flown other radio control aircraft to that location and every time i reach to that train bridge, I will lose connectivity and aircraft will activate RTH.

@@alishanmao My car is in miles. I looked it up 2.4miles 😳😳. I'm in new York....thats waaaay more than allowed to fly within line of sight. Major airport is less than half a mile away, lol. I cant see how anyone would complain about the stock reception. Great videos btw your first I saw was that fire while charging batteries. Thank God everything was ok. Keep up the great vids 👍

1. its 249g drone 2. it was a windy day 3. i was flying in sports mode in those winds to cover distance. For any cinematic video you have to fly less than 3m/s speed. and at those speed this drone shoots very good quality videos.

This is good to see however, if you tried to design a waypoint mission to repeat this same flight autonomously, you could only go as far as 2.5km and back because the app limits you to only 5km instead of 10km. If you were able to do a 10km flight like in this video then there is no reason why Hubsan put 5km limit on waypoint flight. They really need to fix this because it makes no sense.

yes its confirmed, that mission planning with waypoint allows only an accumulated distance of 5000 meters or 5k. so only 2.5km out back. but if you want to do say a 10km waypoint, you can just set an alternate home point on the map by long pressing the location. and hit RTH button. it will fly to that point without any issues. and 5km away you can again change home point the same way to your location or hit RTH again and choose remote control location.

@@alishanmao Thanks for looking into this Ali. I appreciate it. That is what I suspected. I wish that Hubsan would make it easier for us and just allow accumulated path length to be 10km instead of 5km. That would solve the issue. I don't know that I would like messing with RTH as a way of flying to a specific location mainly because if I lose signal the drone would fly away from me to selected home location and I would have no way of getting it back unless I drive over to that location to retrieve it. It is a good idea though.

@@ermin3963 yes I will speak to them about this. maybe due to some restrictions they did the limitation on waypoints. yes alternate home point is kinda risky. if you lost total control it will goto the alternate home point. but if you still have connection to drone, you can cancel RTH and let it return to radio location. still pretty risky because each time it loses connectivity it will start flying to alternate point LOL

Even if they have a limitation on number of waypoints, that is still fine as long as path length can be extended to 10km. Let us know what they say. I really appreciate your help on this. Like you said, it would be a risky trying out RTH method. We will see. Hopefully with a new upgrade this issue will get resolved.
