Great video. The smoke going horizontal coming out the stack is a great indicator how strong the winds are. Still waiting for a firmware update to fix the camera/gimbal jitters then I'll buy it.

I always set my first way point about 50m away with a 10s hover time to make sure there is no toilet bowling ensuring a good GPS calibration...gives great peace of mind for the rest of the flight :)

Excellent tests....very useful. The problem with the video not coming back may be because this drone does not have a FPV image without taking off. When the radio was turned back on, it didn't receive takeoff information... that's my theory. On the Mini SE this shouldn't happen, because it always has FPV images

Hey Ali, today I tried to exceed the maximum waypoint sum over 5km: The program tells you that it is not possible. So I shortened the range that the total would be under the limit. First the program said I would have to bring the drone up in the air first, then many funny things happened. In the beginning the drone didn't even started to pick up the path, after a couple more tries it flew until point 7 out of 15, and hovered there until I called it back home. When I tried to bring it on again, all of the waypoints have been erased. This, by the way, happens out of nowhere evey time now: You send the waypoints to the drone, and a lil later the memory is empty... Well, we already have conversed many times already about the several issues with my ZMP, you have even tried to contact your representative..., nobody from Hubsan got back to me. So, still no propellers, still that tilted gimbal (sometimes when I'm lucky I get some leveled footage, but usually the videos are all tilted sidewise, and you can try to align the gimbal as often as you want to), now those unusable waypoint function errors, and finally still no explanation about the unsealed box that I've gotten... I simply think that Hubsan is not attentive to the customer at all. I feel betrayed by Hubsan, I'll take it as a lesson I had to learn. ...Maybe I'll take it with me to a trip to Island, soon, and I fly it in an erupting volcano there. -As some last live stream, by sharing my experiences with this drone live to my followers on youtube, twitch and dlive, followed by records of all those crooked videos I have recorded so far. As you have stated, after you crashed your aircraft: "The crashing is the fun part". The next drone then will come from a company with real customer support. Or I buy one that works. 😃

Thank you for taking the time to make this video. Very informative and appreciate the in-depth look of the Waypoint feature. Question : If I set one Waypoint @ 5K from my home point, and start the Waypoint mission, then turn off the RC say at 1K, does the ZMP continue its Waypoint mission? From your testing it appears that it would. I don't know if that's a good feature ? Just seems really risky.

It would continue the mission. yes it is risky for such long missions. They should provide option to choose before starting the mission that if drone should return or continue to waypoint if signals are lost. many flight controllers have this feature.

Despite many people bashing this drone, from what I’ve seen so far in this video, is that it performed all of the test requests really well. I also agree with you on the last key point, and that is the customer service response. If they continue to fix the issues customers are currently having with their units and responding to them within a reasonable time frame, I think that Hubsan will gain full confidence and loyal support of their consumers. Agree totally with the comments at the end. I've owned 5 DJI drones, still own 2 and love them but user feedback has neve seemed something DJI is interested in. We have yaw, pitch and gimbal control on the Mini 2 RTH. I've requested many times can it be added to the (twice as expensive) Air 2S many times and all they say is 'We will pass your comments on to the development team. Hubsan including a roadmap in their updates is to be applauded. Users at least knowing that certain features are coming reassures them. DJI are really going to have deliver all the Hubsan has and more with a Mini 3. As Hubsan continue to improve and refine this new drone, they are setting a bar that DJI has to surpass.

totally agree my friend. dji either hard to reach or if you reach, you have agents passing your automated copy paste replies and directing you to read here and read there. only some time you get lucky to meet an agent who helps you out quick. but I can tell you, inside China dji support and help service is on different level. I wish they had same for international clients.

Good sharing, Ali! By the way i am still waiting for Hubsan to release the ATVT 3.0 (ActiveTrackVisionTracking 3.0) update as advertised on its website and KZbin. It's like a system in DJI called APAS (Advanced Pilot Assistance System) that can avoid obstacles when using the ActiveTrack function. But so far Hubsan only uses standard Image Tracking as on previous models. Where it is still very weak to lock objects. I hope Hubsan is not only good at promoting this functionality just to entice people to buy, but hopes to fulfill what they say on the Hubsan official website and KZbin.

Excellent testing...thanks for doing this. I have a couple of Waypoint test suggestions for you: 1) Can you show how Points of Interest (POI) work? How to set them after you've set your waypoints. And then fly mission with POI set. 2) Can you show how to save multiple missions, name them and then recall each saved mission and then fly one of them? 3) Can you test whether you can create a mission offline (e.g., at home with drone off using Hubsan app and drone off) and then upload this offline created mission and fly it. 4) Can you test what will happen if the battery reaches a low threshold (that would normally trigger a RTH of ZMP) while flying a mission. Will it return to home automatically or will it attempt to finish the mission? 5) Is there an option to create a smooth transition (vs. abrupt/jerky turns) at waypoint points. This is a feature available on some mission planning software. It makes for a much more natural smoother looking video. 6) Also can you show us what will happen if you try and create a waypoint that is more than 5KM away. I think you've said that it will not allow you to do that. Will it give you a message or just not allow you to set that waypoint with no message? This would be interesting to see. Thanks in advance.

Thanks buddy, 1. has been shown in videos 2. you can't save missions to do them again. but there is a history of your missions. i will see if we can use the history of mission to fly again or not. 3. yes you can create off line, and but you can't save it. it has to be uploaded to drone after you created mission and only if drone flies mission, it will be saved in history 4. Return to home thats what is my idea but need to test 5. No option for smooth transition 6. It will give you a message and won't allow you to do it.

@@alishanmao Thanks for the quick reply. Re #1: POI...yes sorry I missed it. I'm wondering if you can set the altitude of the POI (e.g., like Parrot's Mission Planning). In the video I noticed you changed the Camera pitch several times to try and keep yourself in focus...looked like maybe the POI wasn't at ground elevation). If the POI is set to 0 feet it should keep the camera pointed down at the ground where you set the POI and thus keep you in focus. At least that's the way it works with Parrot. With Parrot you can also set the POI to any altitude..say 30ft. Re#2: Saving missions would be a nice enhancement as that is what most people do when the fly waypoints....e.g., flight of a construction site, flight of different seasons of the year, etc.....but if you can fly them again from history that would be ok depending on how much history is maintained. Looking forward to see what you find on that. Re#3: That's a bummer that you can't save the missions you've created offline; Creating and saving a mission offline is an important feature but not critical to have IMHO. Re#4: RTH on low battery in the middle of a mission would be a good thing to test. IMHO...Hubsan should document all of these "edge" conditions. Maybe they do but I'm guessing not. Re:#5: I noticed from a prior video that the settings allow you to set the hover time at each waypoint...default is 2 seconds...but I believe you can set it to Zero seconds. That would help smooth out the video on a waypoint mission and give you something a little more cinematic. Maybe you can test what that would look like? Re#6: Ok...it would be nice to show what happens (message displayed) when you try and set a point > 5KM. Is there any overall distance limitation to a mission.From what you said I know that a single waypoint can't be further than 2.5km away from takeoff but could you have 6 waypoints none further than 2.5km from take off..and have the total mission distance traveled greater than 5km in theory?

its easy. if you put your hand under it, it will detect and rise up. trick is to put it in landing mode. hold throttle down and then put your hand under it, careful because it won't stop descending then. hold the drone and keep throttle down and it will stop props

I want to know one more thing.. Is there a RTH to the height of the place to take off or sea level? For example, take off the top of a building 100 meters high while return to home at when 50 meters from the sea level. Will the ZMP go up 150 meters and land a take off place?

normally when you are flying and activate RTH at higher than set RTH altitude, it will return on current altitude it is on and then descend for landing. so i believe it will work right still

Greetings from Japan and first let me say congrats to you on your new gig and wish you a lot of success and I remember you making jokes about your English not being perfect and I can assure you as a native speaker your English is pretty damn near perfect, it's kind of in the middle between American and British, very clear, easy to understand and you can even make some some jokes in English so I think you're fine and I think all your fans would think so as well, you got this! Aselam Alekum Ali! I am sorry to respond just now. I am on vacation visiting my brother. You did an outstanding, outstanding job with this video. Virtually all my questions about waypoint missions have been answered. Thank you so much for taking time to demonstrate all these little trials. I am sure other people will be very happy to see all the capabilities of this little drone. I cannot wait to see your 5 or 6 mile waypoint flight to a location and back. If you can, try adding a POI at the end of 5km waypoint just to see will it focus gimbal on it or not. Maybe you already covered this in this video..I can't remember. But anways...man, what a great video! I totally agree with you that Zino Mini Pro could already be the drone of 2021. Even though it looks like that Zino Mini can perform 5km distance mission, it would still be nice if Hubsan would enable 10km accumulated path distance just in case you wanted to avoid some obstacles on the way. Let's say there is an antenna or a hill that you want to avoid on the way to 5km waypoint..it would come useful. Also, what happens if you lose signal with the drone...will obstacle avoidance be able to stop the drone from colliding with a hill or antenna during mission?An idea just popped into my head. I got a really cool KZbin video to show you where I was able to, using DJI Spark to take off from bed in my bedroom, turn off obstacle avoidance and altitude sonnar, get gps lock, hover over my bed, fly through my bedroom window at night, start a waypoint mission to a nearby restaurant set as POI, have the quad autonomously fly waypoints around the restaurant while focusing on it, fly back to my home, lower it to the altitude of my window, fly back through the window and land it on my bed. If you give me your email I will send you the video of this successfully executed "historic" mission flight haha. Now, if you really want some challenge it would be cool to see if you can try to repeat the same through-window nightime waypoint flight with Zino Mini Pro (of course using another location as POI). This is a pretty Ninja style move so better be prepared! Haha. I think that Zino Mini Pro has the advantage of having positioning LED light which DJI Spark did not. Thank you for your detailed comment buddy. always welcome. for the question if it will avoid say an antenna or a tower in the way. first thing a good pilot will not carry out such long mission at an altitude where buildings or towers or antennas will be between him and the drone. But in case if one still does, the obstacle avoidance (even if drone is on RTH due to lost signals) will work, given that now it will stop only, but later hubsan plans to add algorithm to go around obstacles, but still, any drone, even a smart algorithm like DJI will not take the drone around a building, an antenna or tower maybe ok to avoid and go around. let us see when hubsan will implement the obstacle by pass and how good it will be. then will perform more tests. sure link me to that video of yours. i live in a cramped residential area but i do fly my drones out of window some times. which is in my living room. still I could try something :) like flying it out of my living room and let it fly and go take a good shot of Stadium and back. gotta plan the Return to home point very carefully though :)

I did many long missions and I never had a single crash. I would plan my flights in Litchi mission builder, export them into Google Earth in 3D to see how the flight will look like. I even use a feature plug-in that let's you fly out mission in Google Earth with a camera view that drone would see just to make sure it stays clear of any obstacles. I always give 10 to 20 foot buffer space from Google Map 3D objects such as treeline that compensates for any errors that 3D objects might have. Before each mission I use an app to make sure that airspace is clear of any aircraft in the area and that the mission is programmed to minimize flying over busy roads and large groups of people. So far it has worked pretty well. Like you said, it would be nice if Hubsan would make an algorithm that can avoid obstacles in autonomously flight because it would give an additional level of safety. I will send you link of the flight that I did to your email just so that you can see what I have done and try to maybe repeat it. The key is to turn off obstacle avoidance while indoors at take off, make sure that you can get a good GPS satellite lock before flying out through the window and use downward LED light for stabilization when doing this at night. Also, it is important to test and see how the drone responds once it detects an obstacle below it. If going through window at night is not done properly, drone's downward obstacle sensor will detect bottom of the window and cause the drone to go up quickly and hit top of the window. Transition needs to be done smoothly with all obstacles avoidance turned off..once you are outside of the window, you rely on drone's lights to keep an eye on it to make sure it is not drifting as you launch mission. Once the mission starts, there is nothing else to do but watch. At one point, you will lose signal with the drone as it completes mission but you will regain it back when it returns. Then, you make sure that the drone is pointing away from you, slowly descend it down and fly it through the window. Doing this during the day is much easier but with downward LED light that Zino Mini Pro has, it should not be a problem. And I totally agree, you need to make sure that the drone mission is designed properly so that you don't lose it :-) Again, great job Ali. Love watching your videos. I am as much passionate about this hobby as you are.

Am a hubsan man but first time I flew it, was asked to do a tx update , I did that. Gave me green light to fly but when I hit 4th it went home 1500m away. I found it by the tracking but think I will hover above my house for a minute before flying again. Lucky only a scratched propeller. Have a cheap sjrc f11s and it's not as stable in the air but came home within 2m , so I will wait n see if I like this drone

it just points you to last known location of signals from drone. so if you crashed the drone and its powered off, this feature will help you to get to the last signal received location. and then you can search for it.

Hi, I have a question. What happens to the Zino mini Pro if the connection between the remote control and the phone with the app is interrupted. Is an RTH then automatically initiated or can I fly the drone without a connection between the phone and remote control or activate it with the RTH button on the remote control. @@alishanmao I saw in your video that you can control the ZMP during USB disconnection. Maybe this is the new update from Hubsan. I faced this issue a couple of times when USB disconnection happened during mid flight. The ZMP did RTH but I can't control it at all and it ended up landing on top of my roof instead of the take-off point. Already submitted this issue to Hubsan including the flight log. It was really scary when that happened especially during night flight.

hey buddy, tablet is not going to fit in the radio. but if you sit and fly using a table to put your tablet and connect to radio controller, then iPad mini Latest generation will work. I use one plus 7T phone and it works like a charm

I just finished watching most of the raw video footage from new owners and the camera/gimbal issues causing the jittering/jello and the tilted horizon are the most common complaints. No software/firmware upgrades are going to fix this. The gimbal needs to be replaced or re-engineered. Please pass this along to the rep you are working with. If they can't fix this then DJI'S newest forthcoming mini will take the market shares Hubsan was/is hoping to gain as they will most likely have the improvements Hubsan has. Hi Ali..Question for you, does the flight app work like DJI's, It won't let you fly and has total control of your drone, or does the operator have control all the time of the Hubsan flight app and will let you fly without stopping your flight if in risky areas. One reason i won't buy a DJI because of that flight app, it's like they own it and can shut you down anytime. Thanks great vid's.

Why People are willing to buy hubsan is this reason buddy. There are places I can't fly my DJI Mavic Air 2 but I can fly Hubsan Drones in those areas. because hubsan right now does not have that many restrictions or NFZs

No richard, I was watching it, it finished its waypoint mission, because there was only one waypoint for this simulation. it stayed there for a while as you can see from drone camera video and then activated RTH when it finds no signals. Wait for the 5km long waypoint test hahahah. I so much want to do that

I also missed up to 47 mins today for some reason maybe it was premiering and I only watched it from where I switched on 🤦‍♂️ Can I just say being able to draw a way point mission and set heights and time stops during its amazing. and setting and flying way point with a poi is outstanding and you could be right about it being the drone of 2021 indeed 🤜🤛

First drone, you have to be very careful and do your research right. because you want something that is not going to give you good issues. and company has good support available in your region. so choice is all yours. wait a bit more maybe, see what dji mini 3 looks like and autel evo mini then make an informed decision

Hi Ali, great video, thank you. But again my question: Does this drone have a "find my drone" function? As I wrote before, this is an important feature for me. I don't want to spend another 3 hours searching in vain for a drone in a field of tall grass… 🔎 If it has not, can you ask Hubsan engineers to implement it? A beeper is already present, the desired function should be possible via a software change. I don't understand why such a simple feature is not implemented in a high-tech drone. Activating a loud beeper via a remote control, that's technology from 30 years ago... 🙂

The flight logs feature always shows exactly every second where the drone has been with Lat and Long values of GPS sats. in case drone goes down, flight logs maps will show where it has been last. there is no loud beeper in the drone nor any dji has a loud beeper or i have not seen that in any drones except custom built racing drones. I would sure pass the idea to Hubsan my friend.

@alishanmao I am already aware of that. I searched for my drone at the last known GPS position (according to the flight log), but still did not find it. If a drone crashes from 120 m height, it probably does not fall down vertically like a stone. The search radius is then already quite large. In this respect, a loud beep would be very helpful.

My Fimi X8 SE had a loud beeper installed, which emitted a loud signal every time it was switched on or off. But unfortunately you could not trigger this beeper by remote control ... In one of your videos I saw that the Zino Mini Pro also gives a sound when switching on. So there is a beeper already built in! Now there should ideally be a way to activate the sound by remote control! A 2nd possibility would be that Hubsan sells 2 variants of batteries. A slightly smaller, lighter battery that also has a very loud beeper installed. That way you wouldn't get over 249g. I would rather give up 5 minutes of flight time in favor of a beeper that can be triggered by remote control.

Hello Ali, can you help me to resolve this question? I have last app and fw. When the drone is active and connected, under i see first led yellow fix, second led red fix and third led red pulse fast". It's normally? When drone is active and not connect to radio the led are correct. My drone don't work well(first hovering) with RTH ang GPS, because the drone moved away from me and was landing 20 meters further from the take-off place, almost as if it did not take the coordinates well.
