Hey guys, I'd love to see a video on using Leads vs Deals. Obviously it would vary between businesses.. But for example would a 'product demo booked' be the trigger to create a deal? Or when the lead has been identitied as qualified to buy, as in, they're doing something and comparing products or services right now, then that would be a deal? Would love to see examples or hear from others..

This is an excellent recommendation. We'll share with the team! You may also find this article to be helpful as it also shares how we think about deal stages overall - blog.simplestrat.com/hubspot-deal-stages-7-keys-to-success

Hi! Thanks for the overview- do you know if the Lead stages in this new tool are the same as the Contact Property Lead Stage? Wondering how to program the automation when you decide to add a new lead stage.

Thanks for checking out HubSpot Hacks! They seem to be a little different than HubSpot's Lead Status property, and they have the additional feature of "substages." Here is the knowledge base article: knowledge.hubspot.com/prospecting/set-up-leads I hope this helps!

Hi! Thanks for the great summary. I have two questions: 1. Do I still need the Lead Status field? I have this on my contact in addition, but it doesn't correspond with the new Lead Status in the Prospecting Hub. 2. In your video about the lifecycle stages (with the fancy graphics), you mentioned that MQL includes the Lead Status "New" and "Attempted to Contact" and SQL includes "Connected" and "Qualified." However, here you show that only the SQL should be recorded as Lead / Prospect. What are your thoughts on this? Best regards, Mike

These are some great questions! A lot of clients we work with have replaced lead status with lead stages, but it's up to you ultimately as we don't know how your portal is set up. Question is the difference between lifecycle stage and lead stages, which is different for every client. I'm not ready to make a recommendation without knowing more about your processes. I hope this helps!

Question: in your opinion this is a uesful tool despite the fact that it has no kanban view to manage the leads pipeline? How do you suggest to handle it without the Kanban view? Thanks!
@HubSpotHacks3 ай бұрын
Great question! We still find it very useful even without a kanban view, and highly recommend navigating leads through the tasks page. All open leads should have a task, and you can work each lead one by one. I hope this helps!

For some reason, I am unable to find a few of my contacts as lead in that add lead screen (I can add some of them). Any idea what could be the reason?
@HubSpotHacks Жыл бұрын
Hi there - It's likely because you aren't the contact owner of those contacts. We recommend checking that first. We hope this helps! Happy HubSpotting!

Yes that was exactly the reason. Thank you 😊

Hey team - One thing, everytime I add a contect it creates a new lead. Any thoughts? Workarounds?
@HubSpotHacks Жыл бұрын
Hi there - check your lead settings and see which lifecycle stages are used to create leads and make sure it's only the lifecycle stages you want. Then check your contact settings and see what your default lifecycle stage is. Hopefully, this helps!

What about if I have over 2,000 leads that I want to pursue - is that something you feel would be manageable through this interface?
@HubSpotHacks Жыл бұрын
Thanks for checking out HubSpot Hacks! That is a lot of leads to manage and stay on top of for one person, the tool can definitely handle it!

Hey! Every time I import leads, it creates new leads for leads I've already disqualified within the last 30 days. Any thoughts on how to prevent this and have it keep bringing in new leads?
@HubSpotHacks6 ай бұрын
Hey there! You should check the settings for how Leads are being created by an updated Lifecycle stage. If you are upgrading and then downgrading stages, it could be recreating them.

Can you send a lead to someone else?
@HubSpotHacks11 ай бұрын
Hi Lindsay! Lead ownership revolves around contact ownership. To change the owner of a lead you need to change the owner of the contact associated to the lead. This will only change the lead owner for open leads. I hope this helps!
