So many changes to the landscape, roads and buildings since I lived in Huddersfield in the 1950s, 60s and early 70s. During your drive I was lost one minute, familiar the next. Fascinating, thank you for posting.

@@almafromengland8697 I was born there in 1952, living in Fartown and Almondbury before moving to York in 1976. I returned to visit my parents before they passed away in the late 1980s. I haven't been back since then. Watching your videos brings back happy memories, especially when you pass the schools I attended (Birkby Fartown and Almondbury) and places I played as a child such as Norman and Greenhead Parks. I am subscribed to your channel to make sure of not missing anything. ;-)

Thank you so much for sharing your memories with us. It is very nice to have such a subscriber as you. Your interest encourages me to find other aspects of this town, other hidden corners and intricate places. My husband knew a fellow who lived at no. 1 Wasp Nest Road. Any similarities between your KZbin name and that road? Thank you again. Have a great day. ❤️❤️❤️

@@almafromengland8697 Number 1 Wasp Nest road is near 'Teapot Chapel'. I lived at number 85 on the same side of the road at the Spaines Road end, next door to Fartown Trinity Chapel that was demolished in the 1970s. A row of apartments called Chapel Court now stand on the site. My old house is still there. I went to Fartown Secondary school on Wasp Nest Road, now renamed Birkby Junior school when the secondary moved to the new building on Woodhouse Hill in 1967.

The 1812 Overture brings me back childhood memories of the cartoons called Super Duper Sumos and Oscar’s Orchestra. Goodness! There was a lot of gulls after when you went past the leisure centre. It on the left used to be Jumbo at 05:50. I thought I may as well sing The 1812 Overture as well.

Thank you so much for your kind message. Yes, I remember Jumbo and its prawns in sweet sauce. Cheap and cheerful. Good old times. I'm also happy you like this music. Thank you again for watching my video. Have a great day. 🌎

How many people noticed the Victorian shelter/bus stop?, I think there are only 2 left in Huddersfield. Many of the buildings in Edgerton, which was not really shown, belong to the Mill owners of past, A beautiful place to live, I know I lived there.

You are so right. I know that bus shelter very well. When I moved to Huddersfield, 23 years ago it was such a delight to see it there. Thank you for watching my video. Thank you for your message. Have a great day. ❤️❤️❤️
