Great vid. Help me decide on options as well as thinking of new ideas. I got this yoke after MS24 fyi. The default profile is in at launch. Its close to the insert that comes with, but not exactly. Few changes I made to yours was keeping view changes (in/out) to the view button (double squared) and putting the Instrument view on the replay button (middle button). Kept brake at B2 and put Radio accept on B1. The rest is a combo of yours and default. I have a rudders so I still have both triggers and LB, RB available for modifiers. Also you no longer need to map external cam separate, it works on default which is cockpit free cam.

Trim wheel worked using "spad next" in technical alpha so in the worst case scenario in release we'll be able to go for simconnect APIs directly (using spad for example)

A couple more observations: I was able to get the brakes working by binding pedals to left and right brake *axis*. I had just bound them to left and right brake, so that's on me. Also, I updated firmware to 1.50 and while the yoke still worked, all its panel lights were on and blue, and I couldn't get into the panel setting menus, like to put it back in update mode or to enable/disable the rudder control. Going back into the FS2020 cleared those lights and got me access to the menus again. Good thing I hadn't deleted it! Once that was cleared up, it continued to work in FS2024.

Hi again. As a follow-up to my comment posted yesterday re the trim wheel not working on the VF1 on my XBOX, I discovered that there was a firmware update from Turtle Beach to version 1.5.0 posted July 29, 2024. The update claimed: "Fixed bug with trim axis data jumping when used with VelocityOne Rudder connected on Xbox consoles." I do have the rudder pedals and was using the previous 1.4.0 so I upgraded to 1.5.0 and did a complete reinstallation of FS2024. The trim wheel now works but is very sensitive.

Default settings for VelocityOne in MSFS 2024 had pushing yoke forward to go up, pulling it back to go down ... so reverse that axis. Camera control also is really hard compared to 2020. Using the mouse to control the camera in cockpit is like being put into a martini shaker. Maybe it's too sensitive? It's going to take a while to configure this into some sort of submission.

The yoke issue can be fixed by just reversing the axis, like this video shows for the throttle and mixture. It’s just weird the defaults are so off. I still don’t have brakes working through the VS1 rudder, but that was flakey even in 2020. The mouse issue seems to be common and we’ll just have to wait for a fix from MS.

@@ninjalightning2631 Well, I trust Asobo. MS not so much. Windows is their flagship product and, even so, every other release of it going back to Windows 2000 has been terrible. I think maybe this was released a bit early to get fit it into 2024. Remember the beta test phase was called an alpha release, so that was an indicator. It does look nice, and at least with some config work, it is possible to more-or-less fly the planes. Still hope I can get those brakes to work though.

I've struggled getting mine setup in 2020 so I'm waiting for 2024 to start again. I was disappointed that the default set up for the Velocity One Yoke in 2020 didn't match any of the bindings used for the training sections or the Turtle Beach defaults.

I had nothing but issues during the 2024 test run. It became comical how much time I spent setting up the controls just to have them do the opposite function and then not save and have to do it again just have the game crash. Hopefully things go better this time. I had no issues setting up 2020 at all.

Hhhmmmmm, the flaps binding in a Textron Citation CJ4 does not increase / decrease in steps for me in MSFS 2024. The CJ4 has 0 - 15 - and 35 flap settings, but my MSFS2024 increase/decrease binding setup goes from 0 to 35 and 35 to 0, no 0 - 15 - 35 increment steps. Also in MSFS2020, bindings are interactive in that yoke / rudder / switch use/movements would show on the monitor and it does not for me in MSFS2024 and the 2020 binding indication feedback is nice.

That’s one thing I like on the Xbox version that cannot be done on PC - mapping combo buttons using both Yoke buttons and Quadrant buttons (e.g. switching to exact camera number or having full ATC control). As you pointed out on PC they are recognized as separate controllers so you can’t set combo controls

@@Huddison I am on a XBox Series X .. I use this a lot, would have been disappointed if it hadn't worked. By using the left 4-way hat, and the button next to it .. I use those as a shift key, so that, using those, I have 60 different buttons for the 10 buttons on the throttle. I group them .. for example, When I press the left button on the left yoke, hat then all the 10 buttons are set up for nav. I used it in 2020 for the month I had the yoke,before 2024, I just set up my Nav panel ( using this video to help me) .. and can confirm doing this works fine on the XBox X, and 2024. Jake

I have the turtlebeach flight yoke and tried it on fs 2024 on the xbox and the elevator controls are backwards for up and down and tried changing them in the settings but they still stay backwards. Not sure if it's a bug since the game just launched or what.

Thank you for all your efforts in taming this beast. I saw you couldn't get the trim wheel on the VelocityOne Yoke to work in the alpha. I can't get it to work in the full release on my Xbox. The plane just heads straight to the ground in the training flights before the instructor has stopped speaking. Have spent ages typing in bindings but cannot get this function to work. Did you get it working in the full release, Xbox or PC?

Heey man, hoping you can help me out. My velocity one doesn't work with the game(Msfs2024), the only way I could get the sim from stop flashing on and off was by switching the input method to pc-legacy1 on the actual flight controls. When I try to configure all the controls, I cant configure my trim wheel or my throttle mixture and prop contrôler. Anyways really bothered everything worked perfect on MSFS 2020

I'm done with 2024. What a waste of time. I returned to 2020, and the interface is much better and more relaxing. Why not just improve the graphics and leave the rest alone? It's so frustrating that they think it's better for everyone. The last straw was a message saying my certificate was invalid. I'm paying $19 a month for GamePass for this?
