Blair, there is a guy in NYC on here who fishes blues and stripers from the parks. Rides the subway to the spot and urban fishes. Would be very cool to do a show with that dude.

Striped Bass really don’t fight very hard and I’ve caught a few, my largest was 52”. I’ve been lucky enough to have caught Rainbows and King Salmon from the Naknek River in AK, Ling Cod off of San Francisco, a Gulf Coast Slam off Anna Maria Island, FL, Cod in Norway and may others, in a plethora of places. A 52” Redfish or Speck would whoop you out and after 52” bonefish or Ladyfish you would quit and go take a nap. Luckily there are no 52” Specks, Bonefish, or Ladyfish and very few 52” Reds.

Most in NC call them Stripers, even though we have the "Rockfish Capital of the World" in Weldon, NC. They are actually Striped Bass, not at all related to the Largemouth and Smallmouth, which are in the freshwater Sunfish family. The Striped Bass are saltwater fish that can live in freshwater are related to the White Bass and their breeding is where Hybrid Bass comes from.
@DarkestNight999 жыл бұрын
North Carolina is far from the striper capital.

I disagree with the weaker one theory. I put my lure past the boiling, then I bring it right into the pack and I get a strike every cast during a frenzy. It's awesome.

yea and the 9' is $109 and the 11' costs $139 and in my opinion thats way to much for a rod that looks and feels way to cheap im sorry i can see this rod being more like $59-$75 depending on the surf rod length.

@MrRetroville10 жыл бұрын
I eat them. They are among the best tasting fish that you can catch in freshwater. Not sure about the big ones like these. Big fish like black and red drum aren't good once they get to a certain size. My experience is that the 10-15 pound ones taste very good. I've never caught one that big, I have no idea.
