Super Momotaro Dentetsu. It’s a play on words from Densetsu from before. Densetsu means legend. Dentetsu means electric railway.

I had a friend from Japan & his little brother had tons of Doraemon stuff in his room. Adding Nuts & Milk for the NES to my collection here in the future that game looks like fun! I opened up & found an original NES game with the converter inside, so now I can just slide in a Famicom game into that cartridge to play on my NES!!! Need to get Adventure Island 4 too!! Mind Blown!

That Wataru game drives me nuts just looking at it - you fight in a side-view and it still prints the damage numbers like an rpg?! Btw, it's pretty funny how NEC did everything imaginable to hide the anime roots of Keith Courage and other games.

I did have the pleasure to play Binary Land, Nuts & Milk, and Pooyan in the early 90's on the NES because I had friends from Taiwan next door and they had bootleg Famicom multi-carts. 😆

Rub the 2 penguins together enough times in Binary Land and a small baby penguin will appear. Nice little easter egg.

This is not related to Hudson but I played Castlevania on NES for the first time and it was making me so mad. Before you get to the first boss or the spider clawing lady, whoever thought it was cool to add enemies as bats coming at you while trying to jump on blocks is so stupid. I probably died like 30 times before getting to the first boss

I'm from south Africa. Most of these titles we got because we got the Famicom clones not nes clones. Our biggest clone console was called the Golden China Loved that thing. It looked identical to the Famicom.

I learned elsewhere on youtube adventure island 4 was the famicom's final game! heard it was really good so Japan definitely got the better deal, compared to wario's woods on NES here in the states. likely the best one of hudson's lineup, too.

All Mahjong is, is a form of Rummy. If you know how to play or get the concept of Rummy, you should be able to play Mahjong.

"Just Mahjong?" The greatest game of all time, is "just" Mahjong. But for real, I don't understand how it is really that popular. I've been living in Japan for the last 15+ years and can't understand how there are so many mahjong cafe/shops here.

@JohnRiggs Takahashi Meijin was a Video game celebrity. He worked at Hudson soft. He could hit the controller 16 in a sec and kids looked up to him for gaming advice. They took adventure island and reskinned it to capitilize on his celebrity statues. The other 3 were developed in house with better balance and dificulty. Bug te honey is a spin off based off the TV show the character stared in. He is still around the net telling old stories of the Famicom glory days. Super nice man. When I was a kid we hd his little hudson produced contoller like device to time how many times you could hit the button in a sec.

That lightning bolt in Challenger is RIGHT out of Milon's Secret Castle... or probably the other way around. I really liked the Doraemon game, just because of how weird it is, especially the final stretch of the last stage; the RPG was decent, too, though I think that was made by Epoch. Adventure Island 4 is great, too; just played through that last week with the patch that switches Tina and Master Higgins... or Takahashi Meijin, I guess I should call him.

Ninja Hattori-kun was a hugely popular anime here in Italy (which it was translated to "Nino, my Ninja friend" in its italian equivalent), and we even got the NES...ops, the Famicom game, but in pirate cartridges exclusively made for the NES knock offs, the Famiclones! Even back in the day it was relentlessly difficult to play, but today feels even tougher to play. C'mon Hudson Soft, that was...a game made for kids?! If these kids could have been the sons of the X-Men, it could understand what kind of "kids" they were intending: superhero kids, the sons of Super Sentai japanese parents. Practically, the game is so stupidly hard at the point that it sucks. End of story. Even the cartridge is in sh*t colour: brown. Wow, they really choose the right one to describe that mess of a game.

Am I making up false memories or was there a backgammon game on the Atari? Can anyone confirm or deny? I grew up playing back gammon. I am in Australia and in Melbourne there was (still is) a large Greek community, it is a very popular gambling game among them. I don't know of it originated there though.
