Thank you so much for your positive comment for Richie's appearance at the University. He was so lovely on the day, even though he admits he was very nervous! He was very down to earth and after the lecture, he stopped to have photos with anyone who asked for one.

Amazing dj and an amazing mixer, and i get he's passionate about it, but it sounded like a eulogy! should of just kept it light and witty, it is just a mixer after all.

You can really see that Richie was out of his comfort zone here and that the audience was a bunch of rich snobs who have no affinity with the technology he's using or the music he's playing.... I'll bet that 99,9% goes to bed at 9 o'clock every night and in the weekends haha...

Adam Gillett He's probably nervous because the audience has no affinity with his music or the mixer he designed. Also those bunch of shallow judgemental snobs probably aren't allowed outside past 9 o'clock in the weekends, so I'll bet none of them have ever been to one of his parties, or any party for that matter....

InfiniteCyclus just to set the record straight, I had the pleasure of filming and listening to Richie talk at the University, such a great guy and really down to earth regardless of his fame. The master class audience was full of very down to earth and unsnobby music tech students, from Yorkshire, who were massive fans of Richie's, it wasn't compulsory to attend and the lecture theatre was still full, he then very kindly signed tons of autographs after and posed for photos with the students, why does everyone assume people at uni are snobs?

do artists matter anymore? seems like the focus is on the technology, and crapping over the artists music. you can rock a crowd with a old rodec or numark mixer just fine if you have good track selection. translate everything he said and it comes out to please buy my ridiculously priced mixer lol. "pay differently"

You are completely missing the point of him creating this mixer. It wasn't for the people who just want to select tracks, this mixer gives you complete control of mixing different sounds and frequencies in a way that's never been available on the market.

I suspect that he may be more of an introverted individual. Playing for crowds as a DJ or musician doesn't change that since you're just focused on the records or equipment. Here he is talking to a large group of strangers about a subject he is passionate about so he stammers a bit through the presentation aspect of the event. Speaking as an introvert who has spent a lot of time performing for crowds where they, in a way, don't exist because I tuned them out, I can see a lot of myself in the way he is speaking in the the start of the video.

Jeez, he's nervous. That's all. I was there - he's talking in front of a sloped lecture theatre with a couple of hundred university music tech students, which is pretty intimidating if you're not used to it. What the f#%k is wrong with you?
