Huffy Torex chase

I swapped out stiff stock springs for McMaster Carr 9657K568
I replaced controller with a YK31. separate video but a word of caution, the YK31 controller setup I use has in past failed leaving the vehicle to free wheel, as in no brakes.

Hi Terry. I just bought one of this. I’m new at this. How you charge the battery? I don’t see a charger or anything in the box.

There's a small charger in the box, one of those square converters that plugs in the wall, with a long skinny cord and orange plug on end. You'll have to lift seat, unplug battery (orange plug) from the harness and plug charger into battery. Same orange plug. It's a bit annoying, no external charger port.

@terry tumulty how did you mod the steering? i bought this for my kids yesterday and it is arriving on the 28th of this month. i will also buy another battery so i have a replacement. i was curious about more mods for this unit. 10mph is fast but my kids (5 and 6) are both very familiar with power wheels and can manage the speed. my son rides the rzr mx450 dirtbike with no issues. so i would like to amp up the speed to go faster than 10mph. any suggestions?

10's pretty quick. Quick enough you'll be riding the 450 chasing them around neighborhood. The best mod I've done is replace the springs with softer ones. Stock is like 600#/in. You want 150ish. I got them on Mcmaster-carr

@@terrytumultyjr thank you so much. My springs arrive tomorrow. The only mod I have done is run a second battery in parallel and it increased my run time dramatically. Does yours only use the rear tires in reverse or could there be something wrong with mine since in reverse it only powers the rear tires?

@@Luis61156 only uses rears. The fronts only seem to help in low speed traction. They don't even spin as fast as rears

Did you do any suspension work? I bought two for my boys and the things are so stiff. I sat on the side and barely got any compression from the shocks. Took them over a dry creek bed and those rocks gave a rough ride. Watching this, gives me hope there is something I can do.

It's on par or better than any of the other power wheels we've had. Its definitely the biggest and heaviest. Always afraid he's going to run over another child with it

Normal speed up to 10mph, I've used GPS apps and on flat ground it's 9ish

TERRY now look what you've done! I had been saving for 6mo and convinced my 3yr old that the rollplay flex cart was the best electric cart ever I walked away from computer for 2sec and she clicked on your video and started crying now its going to take me another 18mo to get the Torex don't put up anymore videos for @least 2yrs-).

It's a little much for a 2 year old, not saying he/she couldn't figure it out but it's big and fast. My son (4) has had practice on other cars. When he first got this one, he was so proud he was faster than neighbors toy that he kept looking back and eventually ran right into a parked car at 10mph. It was intense

Replies I bought a huffy torex atv and I've been on the phone 13 times and changed out 3 control modules, a throttle, a power switch, and it still doesn't work. I've left msg after msg with technical service and no one has called me back in three weeks now. Called them four months after I bought it seven months ago and now they are telling me the 6 month warranty is out. The absolute worst I've ever been screwed over in my life. It's been broke down more than it's been working since I bought. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.

Ha ya, it's not super reliable which is a shame because it has potential. Right now mines 36v with variable throttle. But no longer has reverse and recently blew out a rear motor gear
