Actually yes.’ Sometimes I’ll see an 8’ like this that is young and doesn’t have much girth and sometimes I’ll run across an 8’ that is huge in girth and head size.

I get that they are professionals, but they were not being efficient when catching this alligator. They were more focused on showing off for the show rather than actually catching the gator and relocating it from the property. They could have captured him a lot faster and easier without stressing him out as much.

You can't just shoot them. States with gators do have a hunting season though but you have to have a permit. These guys here don't hurt the gators. They remove the animals to a sanctuary/preserve so the gators and people go unharmed.

They spent more time playing with it, than catching it. Once he had the mouth, they should've sat on it so it couldn't roll, and then taped up the mouth. No reason to keep repeatedly playing with it to agitate it like that. Just showing off, more than anything. Good way to get bit.

Becky Young they do it to tire them out so when they jump the gator it doesn’t kick them of or spin. When they’re tired they’re also safer to carry because they aren’t lashing out, same with transport- if the gator is still lively in the truck it’s gonna hurt itself.
