Charity shops are expensive now

Used charity shops since I was a child, stopped using them about 7 years ago, they are on the make. And when you donate the people that work there help themselves before putting stuff out. Really better off buying new the prices they charge.

I used to manage a Scope charity shop a few years back. Our prices were very reasonable and items from cheap shops cost far less...until...our management in their wisdom decided to make all shops charge the same. Sadly, they picked a shop in an expensive area as their guideline. As manager I had no choice but to do as I was told. Our customers deserted in droves, then to rub salt into the wound, the bosses wanted to know why our profits were down!!

Not all charity shops smell! I’m a manager of one and we don’t pong and I don’t have dirty clothes on the rails.

Exactly, ive got a local one Cats Protection and it’s brilliant there no issues or odour & great atmosphere. It doesn’t deter me when they do smell/ have minor stains as 90% of the time always come out smelling and looking great. 👍🏻 Love the concept of donating and saving clothes from waste. Great work that you must do for your store im sure people love shopping there☺️

It’s certainly win win for ceo I refuse to use charity shops as prices are crazy and only the directors benefit

It is getting crazy in some Charity shops most items seem to be set price no matter the age/ brand/ original value. They used to be great for struggling families, we used to rely on them growing up for basic needs. Cant imagine that these days sadly.
