I'm new to the world of books, what is BEA / BookCon? Is it basically ComicCon with books and where is it held?

Corey Williams BEA which is technically now called Book Expo (BE?) is an industry conference so it's for publishers, librarians, booksellers, and reviewers. You have to apply for a badge (that you also pay hundreds of dollars for). Book Con aspires to be like Comic Con but isn't quite there yet. About 5 years ago publishing was like "hey, we have all this stuff set up for BEA let's leave it up and profit. We mean, foster book love among the reading public." does that help?

Jane Unlimited is my most anticipated book of this year! I am definitely going to check out Tea Dragon Society though, so intrigued and I love the pastel color palette to it, and of course I love tea! Thanks for sharing! One of these years I am going to make it to BEA and BookCon.

My Best Friends Exorcism was really good. I think it's out by I borrowed it from the library last Fall. Tons of 80's music and pop culture references.

So jealous! Hope I get to go to big book event one day though my social anxiety will definitely be challenged. What do you do with the non-signed arcs when you purchase finished copies? Keep both? They all sound really neat. Dying for Stephanie Perkins! That description was great, haha. I can't wait for the 3rd illustrated. The cover is already killing it. Some of these I didn't even know about. I need a time turner to read them all. I loved Frostblood so pretty excited for the others. Wow, I didn't know My Best Friend's Exorcism had a new cover. I really enjoyed that one--it's already out in a different cover. I follow the author on GR and he is always reading books with those kinda covers so I bet he loved that. The other cover is nice too but different. So many pretty covers.

My Best Friend's Exorcism came out in 2016 and my best friend gave it to me for All Hallows' Read. This is the paperback version. It's reeeeeally good! I don't know about the funny thing but it gave me Twin Peaks vibes. Definitely just weird and different and quirky. Really fun.

I have the hardcover of My Best Friend's Exorcism and it's like a yearbook, but that paperback is gorgeous. I'm so jealous of the Game Changers set you got. I did win Forest of a Thousand Lanterns in a goodreads giveaway and I can't wait to read it. Girls Made of Glass and They Both Die at the End are two of my other most anticipated books, but you've added so many more to my list.

They majority of the books are ARCs that are given to reviewers, librarians and booksellers for free in an effort to market the books. Every once in a while a publisher will hand out finished copies but it's rare.

1. High school Ali squealed at the Chad Michael Murray book. I LOVED One Tree Hill at one point. I think I stopped watching after season 3 tho. 2. Every Last Word is SO GOOD! It was such great representation of mental illness and the struggles people with that particular illness go through. I really loved it. 3. Glad you had fun!!!

You're fine :-) BookExpo is an industry event for reviewers, librarians, booksellers, authors and publishers. They promote the new books they have coming out in the future! BookCon is for anyone to attend and it's essentially a convention for book lovers where you can go to get books signed, meet publishers and authors and there are always a ton of fun photobooths and such!
