Hoglander was a regular resident of the Bruce Boudreau doghouse as well. When a player is repeatedly falling out of favour with multiple coaches, you have to wonder of the reasons why. My thinking is, either the player is very head-strong and not willing to make changes to him game, or that he may just not be physically able to make the necessary adjustments to play in the way coaches need him to play. Considering Boudreau and Tocchett are almost polar opposite in terms of coaching styles, I do wonder if the ceiling to Hoglander is actually much more limited than what many of us may have hoped. If he can obtain good value in the trade market, I would be supportive of moving him along. We do already have a smallish, fast winger on our roster by the name of Connor Garland and that guy has a motor that would not stop and a work ethic like a dog... Hoglander does not seem to be either.

4 goals on 13 shots, 5 on 17 with the empty netter. I realize this is regular season and you take the W, but this isn't sustainable going into the playoffs. They almost never get over 20 shots now going back to last year's playoffs.

I remember their game In the playoffs though it was pretty similar they use to score goals with very few shots
@Bendy____B12

@zestplays Exactly. Shots on goal don't win games. The sedins canucks had a similar structure of play. We win games because we make calculated plays towards the net when we dominate possession. We have a great ratio Goals to SOG.

@@Bendy____B12 yes, I agree that quality shots are better than quantity, but these totals are dangerously low. At the end of the day, you need to get a shot on net for that shot on net to POTENTIALLY be a goal, and I just don't think this brand of hockey is sustainable in the long run. It's nice that the Canucks still find a way to win with so few shots on net, and hopefully once they have the full roster with Hrokek and Miller back, they can get more shots on net while maintaining the quality.

@@zestplays Yes, they won games with 12 shots on net, but as a fan, it's not very exciting to watch.

I don't think it's good for Vancouver to trade Hogs but it sure as heck will be good for Hogs! Tocchet has hated him from day one and uses him as the example every chance he gets and gives clumsy and slow Joshua a mile long rope... I'm tired of watching it. FREE HOGGY!!!!!

Joshua had testicular cancer what’s hogs excuse for not producing and taking penalties every game. Hogs has played 25 game and has 5 points i love hogs but he’s not playing the way tocchet expects him to be playing. He needs a new start he’s too good be sitting only getting a couple minutes a game but he’s just not producing. Our defence struggles on a nightly basis we desperately need guys who can get the puck out our zone and keep it in the offensive zone.

@manmeetshergill3628 honestly I don't believe in excuses but if we're going to go there I think getting validation from your GM that you're a big part of the team and that's why we won't ever trade you when teams come asking and then getting stapled to the fourth line, and benched once a game would probably mess with your head lol... having the coach make an example out of you every time you make a mistake while others get off scotch free over time would make you scared to play and you'd become a shell of the player you are. I guess that would be his excuse if he had one. I agree he's a good player who used to be a skill player and converted to a checker to try to please Tocchet and honestly never will because outside of Garland Tocchet will never like small forwards. A number of teams want him for a reason. Allvin needs to do the right thing and send him somewhere the coach wants him and it'll be another Canucks regret in 5 years lol

@@ryandenton190 garland doesn’t sit in the penalty box and is almost point per game. Hogs is -5 in plus minus. Conor wins pucks and is his prime. we won’t really regret anything when we have pieces like willander and lekkermaki. Sasson had 2 points in his first two games in the nhl hogs has 5 in 25 he deserves to be on the 4 line. Plus he was playing with Petey last year. it’s mcdavid effect when u play with good players they make it sooooo much easier for to rack points up and it shows. He was given the chance at the beginning of the year with Petey and he failed simple. You get chances you make the most of them

@@ryandenton190 on top of that u said that Joshua hasn’t got used to the new addition to the team as he wasn’t practicing over the offseason and just figuring out who he works with best. He is a big guy and come playoff time he hits hard and can help ware down players bc last year that’s what happened to the Canucks. It’s a physical came hogs Isn’t as skilled as you think he is or as physical. still a great player tho

@ryandenton190 6 күн бұрын
@manmeetshergill3628 I hear what you're saying, but honestly I think Hogs is usually more physical than Joshua. I'm not sold on big is better in today's league. Guys are so skilled as a whole that it's becoming a non factor. And in fairness, Joshua is only about 15 lbs heavier than Hogs so it's not like comparing him with a guy like Garland
