I'm seeing a regression on this version of Cemu, in particular with Super Mario 3D World. Whenever you finish a level, the graphics of the menu corrupt, and they either disappear entirely, partially, or corrupt the whole viewport. You can sort of continue in the first two cases, but in the third Cemu needs to be restarted, since you can't see anything.

I didn't really see this reported anywhere, but you can use SideCar to make the iPad an additional display for whatever Mac you're using and then make the GamePad render to a separate window. Move that window to the iPad and voila - you have a makeshift Gamepad. I use a Dual Sense 5 as my main controller so I get motion and normal controls with that, as the iPad can't be made to do this when you're using it like that. Also, you can use the Apple Pencil to control the iPad in GamePad mode - so you more or less get a very very similar experience. Plus with the iPad being able to do this wirelessly is pretty legit. I just wanted to pass this on as it's a pretty cool way to be able to play NintendoLand or Mario Party 10 with people. (You could probably get away with attaching JoyCons to your iPad using some kind of iPad JoyCon rail thing to get a slightly better experience.

Just to chime in, a lot of the games that I tried run really well at 1440p, 30fps or 60fps on my M1 Pro 16” MBP. For eg. Bayonetta 2 runs perfectly at 1440p, 60fps with the fix applied. So for anyone without an M1 Max, do give CEMU on Mac a try.

This is a Mac Intel release, so if you run it in a Mac with M1/M2 family chip it will be translated by Rosetta, you can verify this by opening the activity monitor app, in the "Kind" tab it will display Intel for Cemu instead of Apple

Hey, I need to say it's just a half-truth about shaders loading.. In order for the shaders to be fully compiled, you need to play A LOT! With each new era, a new level, new enemy or animation shaders are loading, and therefore you get stuttering. It is an unplayable experience, in my opinion. The only emulator that has almost no shader loading time is Ryunjinx! Even without downloading Shader Caches manually, the emulators do load shaders very quickly, and new eras or animations also load very quickly without that much stuttering. It is very sad that RyuSAK is not available anymore. Parallels and Crossover are especially awul on shaders loading. Best two emulators in my opinion on Mac without any big shaders compilation issues are: 1. Ryunjinx 2. AeatherSX2

Damn this is VERY good progress for cemu. Running a m1 macbook air with 16gb of ram this runs 20-30 fps most of the time. I can't seem to remember how to lock onto an enemy though hmm.. There are graphical glitches, doors not rendering, the sheikah consoles being all wonky but overall really awesome progress. I await their fine tuning to make it a more enjoyable experience. We need the async shader compiles because it's a very shit experience at the moment. *UPDATE* experience is identical on a m1 pro max with 32 core gpu and 64g ram.... so until this title is fixed, it's a crap 20 fps ish no matter the model of apple silicon

Yeah kinda glad I got the physical game and a switch. I’ve noticed this on Mac and windows and now that android phones have the skyline switch emulator which is starting to emulate this game as well but still see how generally speaking this game seems to be one that’s hard emulate across the board

You wanna know what I found craziest about this? You had these things open, admittedly not for very long but your fans never spun up according to a widget in your menu bar. On my 9900k and 3070 Ti desktop temps almost immediately hit a point of making fans more audible when opening these games.

BOTW performance in Cemu still looks to be behind the windows version as I could get a stable 60fps in BOTW on an i7-7700hq and a gtx 1060. Still it’s nice to see performance steadily improving

This emulator would improve a huge amount with native Metal + native ARM code, right now it’s using Rosetta 2 to translate x86 to arm64.

No the perfect time was long ago (on windows) and it's still better on windows. it's amazing on cemu windows. This mac version however is still pretty bad. until they fix the glitches and shader cache it's not *really* playable. but i have no doubt more fixes will come and quickly

Nintendo Switch emulation for Apple Silicon are very likely to come, and actually run better than Cemu, as Apple silicon and the switch are arm based, so it's easier to emulate

I can get my game to launch, but I can't load into the overworld. Shrines are fine, I copied a save from another computer and it works in the shrine, but when you exit or start a new file you just can't get past the loading screen. Has anyone had this problem? But unfortunately I got another problem here.....I was happily playing Zelda BOTW with Cemu on my M1 Mac, and after 2 hours of playing, I closed it after saving. And right now when I'm trying to run the game, it doesn't load at all and just crashes....is there a solution to this? (Cemu does open, but when i try to run BOTW, it just crashes)

I think I have a temporary solution, I removed the shader caches of the game, and it runs perfectly. But I don't want to do this every time I restart the game. so will there be any solutions to this? For the game to start even with a lot of shaders already compiled?

This is a common issue not much can be done until Cemu gets an update to fix it.

Normally in my experience it is hidden so you have to hit a button to make it appear. I think you can show both at nice if you wanted to so you could display it on another screen

hey if you could please reply i was able to open games just fine but now im getting an error saying i need a required extension VK_EXT_pipeline_creation_cache_control. the currently installed graphics driver does not support vulkan extension necessary for asynchronous shader compilation. asynchronous shader compilation can not be used idk how to fix this and i can no longer play any of my backups ive tried reinstalling the titles but that didnt work
