Huge Clearing Operation

Barangay Bagbag requested the team of Bong Nebrija to assist in clearing their streets of illegally parked vehicles and other obstructions.
Various departments of the Barangay assisted in the operation, along with units from Quezon City Government - such as TF Disiplina, DPOS, MDAD and QCPD-PNP.
I commend Barangay Bagbag for being so active on the ground and willing to enforce the law, for the good of everyone, despite the disapproval of some violators.

It's refreshing to see the Barangay, the City and the MMDA working together in clearing the streets. It seems that Quezon City is very much involved in clearing operations and that the Barangay is trying to keep order in their area. Other cities like Pasig and Manila where it's only the City government who's enforcing the law. Forget the Barangay as they are non existent.

it's because mmda do clearings in their own area captain doesn't act on his own, well some of them do things on their own but most of them doesn't really care unless mmda do clearings in them so that will make them cooperative.

A lot of people from the province don't have vehicles here in Metro Manila. The people in Metro Manila are too spoiled. Just look at homeowners who don't park their vehicles in their garage and just park on the road because it's "more convenient." That's not a provincial thing.

Its easy to acquire cheap motorcycles, and people can pay a monthly fee that’s less than what i pay for fuel monthly. If you go to the provinces you will see all the locals on MCs without helmets. So the concept of being a kamote - primitive yokels with no sophistication and blissfully ignorant - derived from the province. In short, the kamotes you see in Manila are either provincials who came to the city, or the rare city person whose role model is a promdi.

the sad thing that majority of those people with no helmet will not learn from their mistakes. Others will wear helmet, but it is either a bicycle helmet or not wearing the helmet properly. I have the habit of wearing a helmet even just buying a bread from a nearby bakery.

You can see improvements in the areas they regularly clear. But ultimately, the MMDA can only do so much. That's why everyone needs to be on the same page. From residents, to the barangay, city and national. Without consistent enforcement, it's hard to guide people into parking in the correct place.

The difference between the Philippines and Japan is like night and day. Or heaven and hell. In Japan: Nobody parks on the sidewalk. Drivers stop at traffic lights and give way to pedestrians on crosswalks. No house owner extends into the sidewalk. Nobody throws trash on the streets. No squatters on the riverbanks. Rivers and creeks, even in big cities, are sparkling clean and trash-free. Nobody dumps used appliances, broken furniture, wrecked cars, etc. on sidewalks. Motorcyclists wear helmets, shoes and carry their licenses. I can go on and on all day.

It's just discipline. That's what we don't have here. Wish that people would buy cars only if they have garages for these. But that's not the way it is here. And one-side parking is even allowed when there are people who want to easily park their cars in their garage, and they could not because of cars parked on one side. Hays...only in the Philippines.

That's the truth. Many times they've apprehended people who said their license is at home. But when they realize the vehicle is still going to be impounded, they admit they really don't have a license, and they want to know how they can still get the vehicle back. People aren't always lying. But it has happened many times in the past.

I hope the team could consider going to quezon avenue after passing banawe street going to welcome rotonda..everyday there are a lot of vehicles on hazard inside the bike lane & motorcycles parked on the side walk that is causing heavy traffic everyday. I think it's a government agency that is why there are always parked SUV's. Also a legendary chinese restaurant along the same road but going to the north lets its customer park on the road which causes again heavy traffic especially during rush hours. I hope gadget addict will take a look of himself of what i am complaining about. Lastly, i'm hoping that the mmda will open the banawe quezon avenue to traffic because the u turn slot causes heavy traffic especially during weekdays & rush hour. I have read on the Philippine news that due to the high traffic volume. They are thinking about doing away with any tricycles and electric motorised vehicles. I know the poor rely on tricycles from everything for transportation of the kids to go to school. To rides to the malls and around the entire NCR. I hope its just the electric pedicabs as they are driven without license OR ANY common sense. I say 5000 p fine for no license or registration. Illegal parking 2500, 10,000 p for multiple traffic violations. You must pay to follow the rules!!!!!!!!!! PS you don't pay like in the USA Get a warrant and arrest them. Doing a week in Jail always get's one reasonable

I love your videos. And I love the cooperation with MMDA and the barangays. Unfortunately down here in Mati city it is the opposite. Barangay officials get called first in accidents and actually help all parties escape before police are called. Here’s a question you can ask MMDA. When our police set up check points, hundreds of drivers stop 50 meters back and wait for the check point to leave. I’ve been told that is a law in the Philippines that check point officers cannot go outside the 50 meters. Crazy. A law that protects illegal drivers. And down here it’s very common practice to let violators go because they know someone. Sad. Many times I see DOPPO sitting in vehicular watching cars go by but not stopping anyone
