I love those Weird Fantasy, Weird Science, and Weird Science-Fantasy covers. I imagine the high-grade copies are beautiful looking in person.

I live in Athens Ga, Jack Davis attended UGA and occasionally they do showings of original art that he donated to his Alma Mater. CRAZY high grade E.C books....I am pleased to see that at least a few actually exist in such high grades. I can't even imagine the price tag on books like these. I was over the moon about my recent return of Weird Science Fantasy #26 that came back a 5.5 and #27 that got a 4.5. The jewel to me however is the Crime Suspenstories #16...a modest 3.0 ( tape along spine..looks gorgeous) but came back with a verified Al Williamson signature. Your books are like next level. I'm completely blown away. Congratulations!

St. John covers almost always match one of the stories inside. It's too bad people aren't reading these. They're public domain and good scans are available. Dana Dutch was an interesting and skillful writer and there's no way to really understand how much of a master Matt Baker was without seeing what he does with a story. His characters embody each moment of each story in a way that feels true and real. The hype has a solid foundation but the actual reason he's a masterful artist has been buried under the buying and selling of a bunch of covers - a lot of which are likely not his anyway.

The weird Mysteries has a chip out of the mid top of the cover that you can barely see, but I agree it's a nice 6.5, which is a high grade for that book. Edit: Weird Fantasy 18 is also special because it has the famous story "judgment day" in it. Love those high grade ECs, as always

Nice wallywood shock suspense stories ryan one of my all-time favorite bondage covers i got the only signed copy lucky me. Never thought I'd ever have woods signature let alone on this book. Man didn't know there was a 9.9. Id buy it for that price too

I love the weird fantasy 13 cover tough book in high grade my copy is low grade. The DC titles like strange adventures #2 has a great red planet cover

Gorgeous copy of that Zoot 14 - What are your thoughts on the discussions if Jack Kamen vs Matt Baker created some of the covers for the Fox books? It seems like every other issue is credited to either Kamen or Baker, but the similarities in style seem fairly consistent from issue to issue. Where as Matt Baker's romance covers seem to have more detail compared to those credited to him in Fox series. (Just an observation, I am in no way an expert!)

I think their styles are almost indistinguishable in many cases. The later romance covers tend to have a more polished look from Baker, but the earlier covers I think their styles are too close to call. So whatever history says for who did them, that’s what I go with.

Can foxing be removed? I have a Batman 139 (1st Batwoman) that would easily be a 7.0-8.0, but half the cover has a black shadow

There are ways that things like foxing and tanning can be reduced. There are some pressers that use those methods. You do risk getting a restored label though if cgc thinks you’ve used that method.
