Glad to hear Bandit is doing well with his meds! I lost my beagle to stomach and bladder cancer 6 years ago, and she was also put on steroids to control the inflammation from her cancer. It gave us another 2 years with her after her diagnosis, and she did pretty well until the very end. Even though you know you can't take the cancer away, the small victories really help. Give him some snuggles from me!

Hey Jenn. I probably over thought the "Mouse ear dilemma." Here are a couple of options: Option 1: Cute and Frugal- Use cardboard concrete post forms (found at most home improvement stores.) Cut the cardboard forms to fit the length of your shelving unit cubby space. Use spray adhesive to attach a cute fabric to the tube. This will make it more attractive and keep the ears from slipping sideways. Use metal "L" brackets and screws to attach each end of the tube to the sides of your shelving unit cubby space. Option 2: Pricey yet Substantial- Use 6-9 inch diameter p.v.c. drainage pipes. Have the pipes cut to the length of your cubby space within the storage unit. Cut 2 square pieces (per pipe) of particle board to fit the insides of the cubby hole in your storage unit. Trace the pipe onto the center of the boards. Cut out the circles you traced. Insert the pipe into the circles in the particle board. Fit the pipe between the sides of your shelving unit cubby space. Attach the particle board to the sides using wood screws. Place strips of self adhesive, no slip tape (used for stairs) across the pipe to keep your ears from slipping off. Both of these solutions should hold 75-100 mouse ears per pipe. It will keep them upright and easy to see for quick selection. Hope this helps! God Bless, Lora

Hey there, Jen and Tim! You can go yard saling or to the flea market and scope out anything vertical that fits in with your décor. A tall wooden ladder can lean against the wall and is out of the way and still show off your collection. You can tie hemp or other strong rope across at 10 different places up and down the ladder and that will give you room for 6 sets of ears on each so won't be too heavy (can support the tied ends to the ladder with a tack or small nail). They sell mini clothes pins that can hold the ears onto the rope and shouldn't damage the ears. This can be done with any kind of vertical storage or furniture piece to store them up and out of the way (like a mud room or foyer bench with wooden back that is tall). Have fun searching for your new home for your ears!

ear storage idea - get some of those foam exercise rollers and mount them horizontally inside one of the storage units. Should fit the ear bands perfectly and create a nice way to display and store them.
@disneymomonabudget82907 жыл бұрын
For your ears you can make a super easy holder/display by using a plastic chain (or rope) and hang it from the ceiling. Then you can clip your ears down the chain using clothes pins. If you use a rope, put knots in the rope every few inches so the clothes pins won't slip! Super cute and easy peasy! 👌🙌😘

To store your ears. Go to Lowes or Home Depot and get 8 feet of 6 or 8 inch diameter pipe. You can then put the ears over it and have them all lined up. You can decorated the pipe if you want it to look nice.
@adamwilk24337 жыл бұрын
An idea to display the ears is get a workbench-style pegboard and use two pegs to hold up each pair of ears! Or get a wide PVC pipe and cut it into 2ish inch wide rings so that they hold the ears, and then you can hang the rings up on a wall for something less visually obtrusive. Another idea is just get some string and a tie several clothes pins to it and hang it from the ceiling. You could do several rows and vertically stack them so that it takes up less space!
@Gibbles4327 жыл бұрын
Jenn, for the ears, take some PVC pipe, about 4.5" in diameter or so, put long screws in the sides to make it stand up horizontally, and you can just wrap the headbands around the pipe...almost like a bookshelf for ears. It's not a display, but it'll keep them safe and organized.
@Violetemo167 жыл бұрын
Jenn, i don't know where or how to get them but there are stands for fancy/different kinds of headbands & there's a whole lot of stands to choose from 🙂

For the ears: I used to collect small stuffed animals as a child and didn't like how dusty they'd get, or even smushed in a pile. So I put them in gallon zip lock bags. I sealed them with extra bubble of air if they were delicate. I then used clothes pins with hooks to hang them either on a chain on my wall or a on a curtain rod. You can keep a notecard of the artist in the bag. I could easily rearrange when ever I wanted and gallon zip lock bags were always in the house. Also, it was convenient to move some of them to a closet if we had a guest using my room and didn't want to have the collection be so much in the way. If the ears are too big for the bags, maybe cut holes in the bottom of the bag to let the band part poke out and still protecting the ears. Or check amazon for larger zip loc bags. (Wow, long reply....sorry!)

For your ears, check out a Home Depot or builder's supply and look at their cardboard concrete tubes. They have different sizes and can easily be cut to size. You could paint them a nice color (or cover with contact paper and then adhere them horizontally like a closet rod.
@lisadalry94577 жыл бұрын
I had an idea for storing your ears. Get a foam roller used for stretching and PT, mine is about 6 inches diameter and 3 feet long. drill an eye hook type thing in each end, put a chain or similar on each side to hang it from something (closet or rack, etc). Then you could store the ears on the roller. You could maybe cover the roller with a nice fabric. I didn't read through all the comments so someone else might have suggested it.

😲 how many ears!!! You can do a DIY headband holder, you need a tube style item ( about the diameter of your headbands), cover it with foam then with Disney fabric. Jenn I was thinking about your ears and wondering if some pvc piping would work. Like have bigger cylinders that are about the size the ears can hug on to (maybe like 10-15 ears per cylinder) and then those cylinders attached to a tall base of some sort in a staggered fashion. And then paint it or cover it with some sort of fabric to make it aesthetically appealing. It'd be a compact and cute way to show them all off °o°
@SarahYoule7 жыл бұрын
You could use tension rods to make horizontal ear racks! Then they would still be compact, but you could remove each pair from the rack to wear different ones.
@abbiegreene9217 жыл бұрын
What u can do with your ears Jen is get a big pvc pipe from Home Depot or lowes that is the right size 2 fit your ears around, glue the bottom to a piece of wood and the ears should fit snugly without them falling off! It is very cheap, easy, and fun to make. I put my headbands and Mickey ears on the one in my room!

Jenn, I hang my ears on the wall with Command strips {the little ones, not entirely sure which ones they are} and on jewelry displays that I've found at TJ Maxx and Target. I usually pick the bar jewelry holders that are tall and used for long necklaces and it works well and isn't very expensive!
