What is offensive about calling your children kids? I do it and mine are grown. Everyone I know, no matter what their education level ( I have a college degree in child development) or economic status uses the term. It isn't just a Southern thing because my husband is from the North and he and his family have no problem with it. That person must be really sensitive! Tfs!
