From a visual standpoint, I like this layout and look. I'm not RV-savvy, so I don't know the ins and outs, but I like the rear kitchen. The kitchen, living room and bathroom are pretty spacious.

Hi! Well, I have been subscribed for a few months now I suppose and I appreciate what you do. Thank you. You asked for a comment on this model. Personally I like the rear kitchen on this one. It is nice. Only thing missing is a dishwasher!!! (guess that's the arthritis in my hands talking!) A couple of front kitchen models have caught my eye as well. This is quite nice. Could certainly live full time in a layout like this and be comfortable. Thanks!

A dishwasher could be installed under the sink. The cabinets would need to be modified. Any carpenter worth his salt could do it. I'm thinking about doing the same thing to my camper.

I had a 30 foot fifth wheel with a rear kitchen for 13 years and never had a problem with the fridge. I loved how big the kitchen was.

How important is it to be able to get to the refrigerator with the slides closed? I've never owned a travel trailer or fifth wheel but I've always thought it would be nice to get to it without having to extend a slide. Maybe include that bit of info during the review? Either way, love your reviews and can't wait until we finally step up from a pop-up!

I like rear kitchen units, but nothing comes close to the Grand Design 390RK IMO. The dual drop frame gives you so much basement space.

Very nice. I've always been concerned about the weight of a kitchen being on the rear over hang. Once you load the cabinets and refrigerator, appliances, that can be a lot of weight. I'm meticulous about making sure my rig is loaded so I keep the proper hitch weight. Maybe in a rig this size thats not a concern?

JD great 👍 video and very impressed with the unit and floor plan. The washer dryer setup make it viable for full time rving! If full timing I would definitely upgrade the suspension and tires right away as you recommended! I do like the rear kitchen and plenty of storage space throughout! If you find them, can you review the Outdoors RV toy haulers (Trail series)? They are heavy as hell but, I like that among other stuff, they have an "outdoorsman Closet" where you can purpose it exclusively for hunting and/or fishing gear.

Great review as we expect from watching your videos. I would be more worried about a suspension failure with the refrigerator in the rear of this fifth wheel. Not only would I add the upgrades you recommended, but I would add the Joy Rider shocks too. Unless you run a catering business out of your RV, I don't understand why anyone needs a kitchen this large. I'm still a fan of the rear living room floor plans.

Most people wouldn't tow a huge fifth wheel down a rough road. The appliances are secured pretty well though, if you do that. Also Haier is a Canadian manufacturer, their appliances are very well made and sturdy.

I don’t like them because you can’t get to anything, not even the kitchen with slides in. When we travel we like to pull over go make lunch and sit at our table. We can do this in our floor plan.

That's sure is a nice one ... QUESTION FOR YA ,,,,, I purchased a Brand New Gulf Stream 2021 27bhs from Campingworld Kingston NY ,,, first day with it the Tounge Jack kept blowing fuses , then the Stabilizers blew their fuses ... Then the bench seats at the Dinette ( Fell Apart ) because they were Not Nailed Together !!! ,,, the bathroom sink leaks ... we took back , they supposedly fixed issue,,, we go to pick it up and the Battery is dead , they put a new one in , and jack blew fuses again ,,, they then put a complete new one on , still blows fuses , they put in a dedicated wire with separate fuse , YUP , blows that one .... THEN ... we take to go camping and just use manually... and then the A/C shuts off , then turns back on within 1 second , runs 20 minutes , and shuts off , then turns back on 1 second later ?? ... keeps doing this for couple hours , then shuts off completely... ohhhh , then we pull the sofa out for little one to take a nap ,, and its Not Even Screwed down .... & the fresh water tank under front bed has the strap just laying on top , not even screwed down .... then going down the road , the septic line falls off and drags down the road ... OMG ... the battery goes dead , they put a new one in and it goes dead withing an hour with nothing on ... we have taken back to Campingworld 3 times to get these issues fixed and most are still bad ... now the refrigerator keeps shutting off , sink still leaks , jack keeps blowing fuses, they have not fixed septic cause they are waiting for warranty services 🙄 ... ohhhh , did I mention this is a brand new 2021 .. they say they won't take back , won't give good deal if we trade up ... they offered $6k less what we paid,,,, called their headquarters and they say call manufacturer, called them and they say let dealer fix and they won't give $ back ... OMG ,, this things only a month old and next years model ... and ALLLL these things breaking... HELP .. HELP ..HELP what can I do ??? I have bought a Lemon from a Bad Dealer ... HELP

The thing that is missing from the rear kitchen unit is that there is no view. No windows! Think about it, you either back into the view or you pull through and the view is still to the rear. That's why I chose a rear living room with a 180 degrees of window viewing. Now I understand that most of the time you may be sitting outside enjoying nature but there are many times when you are inside. Particularly if you are a full timer. Just fuel for thought.

I love the RK and I'm glad they're becoming more popular. I'm looking for something to live in so not as concerned about the fridge weight. I would make the dining area into my home office. The only thing missing in this rig is a loft or bunk for my daughter. Also, no nightstands. 😲

I like this unit a lot. Think the price is reasonable. Love the layout. I was wondering if you would ever do a video more informative for people looking to get into this life style. For example talking about what to consider when buying like what size limit do national parks have and what is the benefit to which generator you might want to add to your set up. I feel some people feel a little overwhelmed not know where to start and what to avoid.

I don't like the rear kitchen, it's not just the shaking. As a truck driver who has to always consider weight distribution i don't want all that weight behind the axle pushing you down the road. Better over the axles.

I find it ironic that you say it has 7000 lb axles and there's only two axles and the unit weighs over 15000 lb plus 3500 lb cargo. How does the DOT allow this?

Gross weight rating is 16,000 lbs. Dry weight is only 12,500 lbs. Pin weight transferred to truck is approximately 2,000 lbs.

I've seen a lot of fith wheels and prefer walking into the living room like this model cause if your in the kitchen and your other half walks in you feel cramped into one space. I also like the big screen TV. And how every area is in its own zone. Would prefer the bathroom be in the front of the fith wheel though.

First off 2x7000lbs axles = 14,000lbs. The camper over loaded right off the bat. Campers are always over loaded and pulled behind trucks that can't handle the accident waiting to happen. A Maxed out load and no room for error. I'm sorry but I don't like this this.

I agree with your assessment of the refrigerator placement, it can’t help but be subjected to more road abuse back there (especially if you’re on I-10 in LA). It bugs me when they make a nice rig like this with some primo features but cheap out on things like suspension and lights. A mini blind in the kitchen window? Really? Seems they could do better.

I just got here from watching yacht review videos and this guy is telling me to upgrade the tires on the trailer... what? you might be an RV junkie if you look at the brand new tires and think "yeah, got to replace those". I know of an upgrade that is much rounder and rolls much smoother. 🤷🏻‍♂️

a couple of things 1. a 38 foot is not HUGE, a 38 foot is NORMAL. Too much time spent on the fridge in an 8 minute tour. It's ok, but this unit looks just like all the rest of them. I keep hoping for something uber luxury and NO darn carpet on any slides. No one wants carpet in the kitchen.

Thanks for including the MSRP and Asking Price. You mentioned you may stop including this information but I and I'm sure others appreciate this information. Regarding the rear kitchens I like the idea. For me I'd prefer seeing the island closer to the rear and at a lower height such that the slide would retract over the island. This would force the sink to the far right yielding a larger continuous work surface and allow the sofa abutting the island to be pulled closer to the rear to create a larger open space in the living room area. It is also great to see designers attempt to make the refrigerator available with both kitchen slides retracted. Another benefit of pulling back the island and abutting sofa is a couple feet could be removed from the RV length or the living area slides could be lengthened.

We purchased this model and love it! Not full time but spend several weeks at time in it. So far so good and the floor plan is great. It isn't perfect but the best we've found after looking at many. We're two adults and a small dog; I work remotely from the kitchen and it serves us well.

I wouldn't want a rear kitchen plan without an outside kitchen. The rear kitchens don't allow for access with the slides in, so if you're stopping on the road for lunch, or staying overnight at a place where you can't or shouldn't put the slides out, you wouldn't have any access to refrigeration or a microwave.

I did like rear kitchens but now that you point out that the fridge would be at the end that's not as secure, I prefer front kitchens. It looks nice but I would rather not have a residential fridge (at all) but especially not at the very back end. I do love the bathroom though 😁

The kitchen sink needs a back splash, so no water goes on the furniture. That little counter space by the fridge is too small , even for a coffee station. Other than that nice.
