PopCap/EA have the stats for concurrent players on console too, not just PC, so if that also peaks then they could acknowledge that and potentially have even more of an incentive to update the game.

When Rux broke down a couple of years ago they sent someone over to check on it, so I don't see why they couldn't get someone to do the same for the Mystery Portal rotation. Plus they added an entire anticheat on PC (which doesn't work, but shows they have some will to update the game)
