Hated seeing you get caught up in the crash. You're looking better and better and more comfortable every time you hit the track in the 410. Loved how you made no excuses and took responsibility for your mistake. You're going places dude. Can't wait to see you back in Oregon

I love how your sister jumps in there with the wrenches. It is very clear that she knows her way around a sprintcar. Really cool to see a young lady with not only the desire, but the skills to jump in there. She will be an awesome role model for lots of little girls out there that want to get involved in racing.

I have to agree, I know the feeling having grown up in a sprint car family, all of us kids always had a committed role on the team from early age helping our dad, to helping each other when we began our careers. Watching Carly help on the team takes me back to the 1980's and 90's when I helped my dad, and some of those long nights after bad nights from crashes, to blown motors, really take a toll on you. Watching these videos of Tanner and Carly really has given me a bit of racing memories thinking back to my teenage years in the sport. The Holmes Family is really a committed family who is committed to doing this together, their way, and definitely great role models for future kids who want to be part of this form of racing.

@@zitterich76 I’m with you. I grew up running the tracks all over the US with dads midget. Lots of late night with just him and I in the shop and in the trailer. Even a few night sleeping in the trailer at the track. Some of the best memories ever.

A 410 drivers reaction time has to be instantaneous. I always marvel at you guys and gals entering the first turn turn on the start. While your contact was late in the race, I've seen you avoid many other situations. Hang tough, stay strong.

I wish more racers had the maturity you show to admit a mistake was made. You are one hell of a wheel man and person.
@zitterich763 жыл бұрын
A lot of that is growing up in the sport with awesome parents who really lay down the law, instilling responsibility for the actions that occur on the track, and more so of being a family operation, you really gain the knowledge of the cost of the sport, if you make a mistake, you own up to it, and you go to work to repair the car itself, that is all part of the game. Using your own money and time to put the car on the track, really changes your mindset, and you become more committed to making sure the car is ready for the next race. Those of who grown up in the sport with dads who raced, have the maturity and mindset of what goes on thru out the sport itself. Most of your hot heads and bad attitudes tend to be from those who really have no skin in the game other than driving.

After your heat and the B Main, it almost seems like you need a taller gear, judging from the sound and by the stumbling and running hot, would seem to me to confirm that. Unfortunitely it takes milliseconds to make the decision to go up or down and you only have microseconds to decide and react. I'm glad you weren't injured in that crash, but it was an expensive lesson. God Bless and stay safe.
@dudeman9582 Жыл бұрын
I agree., a taller gear would make you smoother too .

My father raced a midget there back around 1983 or so. He was going into turn 1 and the left rear hub and wheel came off (tapered axles back then, not splined) when the axle key sheared. He spun and the left side of the axle dug in and he flipped about 7 times. The cage failed and collapsed to around his shoulders. It is a miracle he didn't die. That is a bad fast track.
