I loved what you shared! I bought a few of the books and can't wait for my little to read them! She's going into sixth grade. I love your channel! Thanks for your joy. I also have a channel where I share all things homeschool. Love connecting with other homeschool mamas!!

The Roll of Thunder series is a great choice. You are missing Song of the Trees which should be read before Roll of Thunder..... The Gold Cadallac is a stand along book that does not talk about the Logan family like the others. All the Days Past is her very last book from a few years ago. Even though it is part of the series, it will probably appeal more to adults than kids.

I will not buy any more. I will not buy any more. 😂 We don’t use our library and i finally overhauled our preschool books last week for donations. It was sad but well used. I have been having luck with Mercari. I found out that people are JUST cleaning out their closets and are selling never used curriculum/books when the school closed down in. I also didn’t know there was more to Roll of Thunder. We read that in 8th grade in public school.

I'm just wondering.... Are the nursery rhymes in black mother goose different from traditional mother goose? Or is it just the pictures?

Some are the same ! Others are African nursery rhymes. 🥰

I love book hauls. I’m definitely looking some of these up. I’m waiting for thriftbooks to do their Buy 2 Get 1 Free kids books sale. They’ve done it the past 2 Marches that I’ve been shopping for homeschool books.

I love how you give other KZbinrs credit 🧡!! Your booklist for 2024-2025 brought so many flashbacks for me as I remember Black Mother Goose. My third grade teacher (who was also a theater coach) read us most of the Mildred Taylor books as read aloud and they were amazing.

How do you pick a time period? Do you do a time period with your rising first grader and pre-k/ kindergartener?

My mother used to read "Her Story" and "If the People Could Fly" to my sister and me when we were younger. Now, I am sharing these great books with my own children and they love them. I'll keep the Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry series in mind for when my kids are older. Another great video as always ✨

When you say Read A Loud, are you both taking turns reading out loud or are you both reading independently then discussing afterwards? And are you using the local library for Science and History? Thank you so much for all that you and your family do and share with us!!
