Thanks for sharing the journey! 😊 Just wanted to mention, Abeka actually uses a lot of manipulatives, helps, hints, and games but they are in the curriculum guide. If you just do the workbooks, it’s only about 1/2 of the program, and can be a reason students struggle to keep the pace. We actually use Saxon after grade 3 Abeka. And LOVE Nicole the Math Lady! In high school we are using Penn Foster online high school which is a Godsend to anyone with a high schooler. Happy Homeschooling!

We love Build Your Library! We are about to wrap up week 5 with my kindergartener and my soon to be tag along prek kid. So far my son really enjoys many of the Spines. His favorite so far is the Children just like me book and he loves the map keys in the atlas book. He’s a facts guy. I’m doing my best to do all the crafts but honestly that’s been the best part. I am not a crafty person but I’m surprised how much we are getting into it. So many rabbit trails. We needed something like this. I’d love an update video in the future to see how it went for you ❤

Ohhh my goodness you were sooooo thorough!! Thank you!! I was doing the Horizons full curriculum from 1st-3rd grade and while I feel she was learning some advanced math, there was no real help how to teach it. She’s so smart but we both argued and struggled hard during math. Many tears. For some reason, horizons doesn’t have a full fourth grade curriculum that I can find anywhere. So I am in the market for a new math curriculum. I came across the Good and the Beautiful and I felt like it would take a lot of stress off of both of us and we would have a good school year with math, but after seeing your thorough review, I totally see why it would be much easier for us because I do feel like she would lose her advanced progress that she is at now and just get by in math. But I’m also adding my son to homeschool this year as well so now I’m wondering if I should just stick with the Good and the Beautiful math curriculum and add an extra book of math to her curriculum. Ugh. But thank you so much! You helped me tremendously because we all want our kids to succeed and be at their best. Big hugs

Thank you for this review! I love your videos. Brielle has really grown this past year; I really love her artwork. I do have a question about Oak Meadow history. I'm considering doing 6 but do I need to do the English and history since they go together, or can I just do the history? We're testing it out and so far, my son is really loving the history.

Math U See for upper grades is spot on, in our opinion, and we never supplemented. Completed grade 10 this year and he has used pre-algebra to algebra 2. Tested this year with 2 different formats for comparisons sake. One showed his knowledge at 13.6 grade level and the other was the 97% if this helps anyone out worried about the upper grades, testing, and if it’s enough. I do feel compelled to include….Another child of ours has to have every math curriculum supplemented or slowed down to solidify some concepts. So, I hope anyone reading this takes it with a grain of salt. We all have to be subjective when analyzing our kiddos and their unique needs. That is a benefit of homeschool. Best wishes Brittany thanks for sharing your experiences and allowing us all to have this place to share too!
