I remember really enjoying the first Madman's Daughter book, as well as the second one, but the third was a lot weaker than the others. The books were really atmospheric and dark, but it also has a lot of those tropey YA elements like a love triangle with a dangerous man, an estranged father, etc. I'd say if the synopsis for Grim Lovelies sounds interesting to you that you should definitely give it a try, but it if it sounds kinda blah maybe put it off in favor of something more exciting and wait until you're in the mood!
