But they ARE right there. Leafs out shot Bruins in 6 of the 7 games. Let's get real, Swayman was God level. The stats don't lie. Even game 1 against the Panthers. He's been clutch. Period. Unlike Samsonov who's given up so many goals in OT and with 2 minutes left in the game ALL SEASON LONG and in game 7 too. I do think Berube would be a net gain for the Leafs. I just think people are over reacting and not looking at the reality of how good the team is. They're learning what it takes to win. They showed us how good they are. Faceoff dominance. Kept up with Boston's hits and toughness. Look at the stats on giveaways and takeaways. They were Swayman-ed. Knee jerk reactions to another series loss from fans isn't a good look. Let's look to tweak the team but not cut off the nose to spite the face. Domi and Bertuzzi need to be reigned. They have the heart that the Leafs need. Domi is definitely the kind of player that would take less money to stay a Leaf. They need more of that. It's a good example.

On Green as Sens coach: I hate this too, but it's what you get when you are a losing team. Sens fans need to wake up and realize that you can't get the best, free-agent or coach, when the best can choose where they want to go. And the best don't EVER want to go to any team in the bottom quarter of the standings. It also doesn't help when it's also in tax-y, cold, insane fan, Canada. I would bet the farm that the Sens made good offers to the better coaches out there and they all said "sorry bro, your team still sucks,. I think you nailed it when you said that Marner would be looking for another raise. It's the nature of the beast that the Leafs created by signing players to these huge contracts. Marner hasn't been able to keep up in the postseason but he obviously doesn't think that matters. After all he is already getting paid too much for what he does, and is still looking for more. Same with Matthews. He only cares about himself and scoring goals. He doesn't care about assists. Look at the Hart finalists and how many assists they had this season. Matthews had his share of assists but how many were the result of rebounds off of Matthews shots? When you look at the money that each of these players are getting, there is no motivation to change. Marner is rich despite being a playoff failure, and Matthews is richer despite thinking only about himself.

All I know is if Matthews is made captain, they are not even really taking this seriously. I mean how can they look the ticket buyer in the face when Brad Treliving lost Matthew Tkachuk, lost Johnny Gaudreau and brought in Huberdeau? There was only two, real major issues that the Leafs encountered.. 1. Our Lack of Team defense was an issue in the first few games vs Bruins.. (that is a coaching issue) he has not been able to get this team to play proper defense the entire time he has been here.. That difference, could have gotten us one or two more games before our back was to the wall.. This is a FACT...... 2, Our Powerplay.. Not adjusting our powerplay to an entirely new zone entry and attack is again ( COACHING )... This team should have raced to the blue line with speed and chased a dump in,,,, then force point shots while crashing the net... They failed to adjust and we missed out on maybe, 15 more goals which would have ended this series... In Every other area, the Leafs matched or exceeded Bruins play... How do we know this --(((we went to game Seven OT)))... DEFENSE & A PP ADJUSTMENT was the difference.... OVERTIME IN GAME SEVEN.... Only because we played two very bad defensive games!! Thats what killed us and that is COACHING... No One player could change that... Period

they are right there. the boston series was hard fought, the difference is the leafs had weak goaltending and boston's goalie was on fire. the leafs finally realise you become contenders with big tough defencemen in the playoffs. with cade webber potential joining next season as brodie and giordano will be gone, the leafs defence will be stacked with size and toughness. fraser minton along with knies, domi, dewar, reaves and possible gregor, their forwards will not be push overs. if woll can show his a starter ,the leafs will finally be a team with skill and toughness that can roll 4 lines just like the bruins who by the way will be contending for the cup finals.

the reason they dont score is because they make the same mistakes in the playoffs as they did all regular season, however, during the playoffs the opposition clamp down and will take advantage of those mistakes made by the leafs, therefore, the opposition turns these play to their advantage while simultaneously decreasing and limiting the offensive opportunities for the leafs. Correct mistakes during the season (video, individual tactics, team tactics) correct these mistakes, and once corrected, this is a team playing deep into the playoffs

It does make a lot of sense to buy out Dubuois now and save all that future pain. But in the real world, unless your Vegas, NHL teams tend to treat their players with as much respect possible. I don't believe you can fault any of our top players. Marner had 98 points in Kyle Dubas wanted to add size and grit to the Leafs a few years ago to make them harder to play against, which is one thing they needed then and they need now. Jake Muzzin was a good add in that category imo. Secondary scoring and depth too...best done through adding your own prospects. Marner had 98 points in 22/23. That is what he does. However any big changes come(and it would be understandable with such little playoff success)...i think we need to give Brad Treliving a little time to do what he can to improve the Leafs. I dont think that can be done overnight.

I think the Leafs will have a hard time trading any of those high dollar contracts for players who fall off come playoff time. The Leafs big 4 dont do anything during the Playoffs every year it seems. They jump off the TV because they look as if they are not trying, not skating hard and look as if they dont give a crap. Leafs need motivation so how about giving out only graduated contracts from now on. For example, every contract has a basic salary, in the case of one of your better players, lets start with 1 million dollars. The team makes the playoffs, another million dollars. Win round one, another million dollars. Win round two. Another million dollars. Win round three, another million dollars. Win the cup, another million dollars. I just grabbed figures out of the air, so my actual numbers mean little but the idea behind the capitalist system is to reward success, not mediocrity.

Dude I love your channel, but this is the first time I have to to fact check you and your fans like me. The PLD scenerio is way more complicated then you reported. Actually there's alot of pressure on the LA Kings how long the NHL Playoffs ends. As PLD status dosen't go on by status as RFA/UFA... it's his actually age that counts for the buyout window. The buyout window starts when the NHL Playoffs ends, Hypetheticly If the playoffs ends quick like sweep Stanley Cup Finals, should end around June 20 or something, but! Elliot Friedmen reported PLD's birthday is like the 26th or something, as if it goes game 7 the Finals they have to pay 2/3 cap penalty for 14 years!..... not 1/3 that's a Huge story to revise. In a nutshell if the playoffs ends early before PLD's Bday which is like days during the Finals. If it goes game 7 it's past his Bday turning 26 as the buyout window starts after the day of the Stanley Cup. The Kings would have to pay 2/3 salary cap hit now for 14 years!, That's huge news to revise!, as the Kings would probably be stuck to eat the signing at 2/3rds...That would suck! This is a legit scenerio I learned watching on the channel "SDPN KZbin channel".....there legit they have Chris Johnston popcast show on there. There's a whole 11min video on it from Friendmans break down, they show you looking it up on Cap friendly exactly what the break down is how much $ per 14 years from 1/3 appose to 2/3 for 14 year cap hit!.....That's a Huge story to share! plus more pressure to trade by July 1st as the NMC kicks in. Fact check me? Are you serious lol 😂 You realize age plays a role in RFA or UFA status? So essentially you are saying the same Thing as me…I was also following up on a dedicated video I did on this topic a few days ago…I broke down all the info from Cap Friendly showing how the buyout would work and everything. I covered this in much more detail including many of the points you made in your comment. All I really went into tonight was the reports today’s saying that LA wasn’t planning to do a buyout. This was just a quick follow up so I have no idea why you felt the need to make it sound like I have no idea what I’m talking about and everyone should go watch other channels. At the current rate the playoffs are going it’s extremely likely playoffs will be done with enough time they could do the 1/3 buyout which is how the original video was positioned. Obviously the 2/3 buyout is significantly different and not nearly as beneficial. But all that aside the buyout isn’t happening so it doesn’t matter.
