With the way the front hangs out and the semi rounded box sections This ship reminds me of classic terrans from starcraft. Also the sand green really complements the grey structure and detailing.

I think I have an in-universe explanation for the wiring Josh pointed out. It's the engine room and at that scale, the wires are giant cables/conduits compared to the minifigures. 🙂
