I've used it quite a bit. I totally don't like it which surprises me. I have done the "rank images" to teach it...2,500 images but it still makes terrible images. I have stopped using --p. I can usually get what I want without it anyway.

Oh, interesting! I know the MJ team is looking into specific cases where people don't like their model personalization and have seen some higher error rates associated with those users. Might be worth informing the MJ team so they can look into it. Regardless, they should be making improvements to it soon.

The rule is to choose the image I clearly prefer out of the two provided, or to select "skip" if neither meets my standards. However, if I want to create very specific, realistic photo-style images, can I skip many photos and only select the ones that align most closely with my particular standard for realistic photo styles? Will this lead to better results? If I want to switch to a different specific style later, would I need to start a new personalization process? My understanding is that the images provided are actually testing my aesthetic preferences rather than targeting the specific style I want. The goal is to learn about my general aesthetic preferences rather than focusing on a single style. Is my understanding correct?

Yes, you can skip as many image pairs as you like. The more you rank (consistently choosing images you like), the better your personalization should get. To switch to a different style (without using SREF codes), you'll have to wait for the updates that they are releasing today 🙂. They are supposed to release multiple custom personalization profiles and personalization based on a mood board today. Yes, the image ranking is trying to get a sense of the overall aesthetics that you prefer. This can be anything from colors and medium to the types of characters you prefer (hair color, etc).

@@woollyferncreative Thank you so much! It seems I’d better reset my personalization settings. I haven’t read the latest update news yet, but it appears there’s a concept about building an entire world with a consistent style. Within that world, you could generate images more precisely in specific corners based on prompts. I haven’t looked into the details yet. For now, under the limits of the Basic membership, I plan to generate images by following some of the processes in your tutorial videos and experimenting with various features. Even though I’m still exploring, I’ve already grown fond of MidJourney. Once I reach my image generation limit, I’m likely to upgrade to the Standard monthly membership at the very least. Your videos have been incredibly helpful in teaching me about MidJourney’s features and how to use them. Sometimes I forget parts of what you’ve taught, but I usually remember which video contains the information and can scroll to the relevant sections as needed. Do you think there will be a Christmas discount? Especially for annual memberships, haha!

Yes, they just released a preview version of the world-building tool yesterday. It's called Patchwork. At the moment it feels more like a brainstorming tool. I'm planning to share more as I get familiar with it. No, they are not planning to do a holiday discount for memberships. Annual memberships are discounted 20% by default though.

@@woollyferncreative Thank you! This new feature seems to cover a lot of ground, and as a beginner, I’m finding it a bit hard to fully understand. I’ll definitely watch your videos as soon as possible! I’m still deciding between the annual Standard membership and the monthly Standard membership. I’m really excited to try out what kind of results I can get from uploading my own images, haha! I’ve tried Adobe’s Firefly trial version before-it was interesting, but the accuracy of the results didn’t seem ideal. That was last year, though. I’ve also used some smaller software with features like object removal and inpainting. Sometimes the lighting and color effects turned out a bit weird.

Thanks for the great insights! Got a question on the topic, does it mean your style continues to evolve while you continue ranking? If yes, does it mean the same prompt using a seed and your model personalization won't work the same 2 months after and won't produce the same image? Another quick question, does personalization works with likes on your own images too?

Yes, your --p codes now update as your rank more image pairs. You should see similarity when using --seed with an older --p code vs a newer --p code, but it will depend on the personalization model used at the time that --p code was created and how many image pairs you ranked in between. Personalization does not include your own liked images, but DOES include images that you like on the Explore page. Thank you for the video. I use my personal code for a while, it's really better I find, Midjourney knows me well now. But question: is your --p number adapt with time or do we need to "actualize" it changing the personal code?

Yes, your personalized style should update as you rate more images. Your code will stay the same, but the data behind it that generates your personal style will be updated as you rate more images. You probably won't see too much change after rating the initial 200 image pairs though.

To the actual filenames or as something like IPTC metadata? Midjourney doesn't have functionality to edit filenames or metadata. You'd have to use a separate program like Lightroom.

Yes, as you rate more images, your personalization will be updated. Your personalization code will stay the same. They are considering allowing people to have different versions of their personalization codes, but I'm not sure if it will happen. For example, a personalization code based on image pairs you've ranked in the last month vs. a personalization code that uses all image pairs you've ranked.

Your settings on Discord and the website are not connected, so you'll have to set it to default on both. Also, I'm still mostly using Discord, so I totally get it lol 🙂.

Do you mean the personalization code? Your personalization code will change anytime you rank more image pairs or "like" images on the Explore page. It incorporates the new information to fine-tune your personalized style. To see all of your personalization codes, you can type /list_personalize_codes in Discord. Currently there is not a way to see all of your personalization codes on the website, but that may be changing soon. It learns your style when you rank images on the website (midjourney.com/rank). Every time you rank an image, you're telling Midjourney what you like. The more you rank, the more it learns your style. For example: if you tend to choose illustrations over photographic images, Midjourney will learn that you might prefer more illustrations in your results. Or if you tend to choose cooler-toned images over warmer-toned, when you use --p you might get more cooler-toned images. Hope that helps!
