This is a great tutorial. Thank you so much. I’m struggling with the pan function, when I pan left or right and try to input the information to add a person with a cref, it pans, but there is no new person in the shot…any tips?
@woollyferncreative2 күн бұрын
Sounds like you are following the right approach. Try adding --chaos 15 to the end of your prompt when you are panning. This will force Midjourney to make the results in an image grid more different from one another. Sometimes this helps get it out of a rut, if it's not doing what you want. The chaos parameter takes values 0 to 100.

@@woollyferncreative I’ve managed to get a second person when I pan. Thank you so much! I’m now trying to pan to the other side to add a third person with cref, but the scene stays empty, do you know if its possible to use this function to add a third?
@woollyferncreative2 күн бұрын
In theory, adding a third person should be doable by panning in the other direction. I haven't tried putting more than 2 crefs in a scene yet. Hopefully you can get it to work!

You’ve got fantastic presentation and style yourself btw. Subscribed. Thanks for covering this topic. Question. Do you believe there are really 4.3 billion unique style references? Or maybe a thousand tons of repeats with slightly different color shade variants? Images, okay yes. SREF(s) at those numbers are hard to conceive. How would you even catalog in a way that makes sense? If there are actually that many legitimate styles.
@woollyferncreative2 күн бұрын
Thanks, I appreciate that! Yes, the sref numbers go from --sref 0 to --sref 4294967295. Given that many SREF codes, there are probably many that look pretty similar, but none that are 100% identical. Cataloging all of them would be quite a task! My approach is to try to find the best ones with potential and ignore the rest.
@aiartgifts2 күн бұрын
Happy to have found your channel. Thank you for sharing these with us. Do you ever just put up random numbers for the sref to see what you get? I like taking a style and then running it in different aspect ratios, changing the stylize value or adding chaos as I go. Not enough hours in the day!
@woollyferncreative2 күн бұрын
Yea, I have done that, but I mostly just like MJ assigning the random number :-). It's so easy to get lost in a style for hours and see what it looks like with different aspect ratios, stylize, style weight, chaos, etc. All the things!

Hi! Is there s video or something explaining how you made these styles ?
@woollyferncreative3 күн бұрын
I run a generic prompt and include --sref random. This tells MJ to apply a random style to the results. MJ also assigns it a number. Finding great styles is a luck of the draw. When I find one I like, I run it with diverse prompts. These two videos may help: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pJXSpmZmfrKgh6Msi=rrYj4kBXFjIpHUQB kzbin.info/www/bejne/gHbckoWge56cna8si=tTfqzmPjPrkCg7RT

Thank you so much Fern 🙏🏾 i love the v6 sref , but from discovering your style tuner guide for v5.2 I kinda prefer v5.2’s browser environment, because it’s a visual palette to make combinations that can include image references as well… but I’ll definitely be mixing between v.5.2 & v6 . Once again thank you making MJ’s under the hood stuff clear and practical.
@woollyferncreative4 күн бұрын
The v5 Style Tuner is a lot of fun! Some people still prefer it over the v6 approach. I've had great luck taking images I created with v5 Style Codes and then using them as Style References in v6. Works like a charm!

@@woollyferncreative yes I love layering layers … MJs methods resampling and “ ai art “ is like Digital Impressionism. Maybe the developers will make graphic stem separation , just like Music has audio separation, where you reshuffle and re-blend elements in an image , relative to you separation focus , e.g. separation by primary focus object and tiers of depth of field… or separation, by hot and cold colours, object groups: people , inanimate objects, buildings, natural landscape vs industrial etc. ps I also like putting blurred images as image references and sref , it’s like gives the processing and unknown noise type (blurs) to be more creative with. Cheers 👾

can the "--cref" works for products ?

--cref works best for characters. It's possible Midjourney will have an "object reference" parameter in the future, but I don't think they are focused on that right now.

Thank you so much for your videos 🙏I'm fairly new to midjourney and have a question that I haven't found an answer to. I have created a consistent character and put in a couple of pics in a short cut. In your video I got half the answer to my question, how to delete a shortcut. The other half of the question is can I modify a short cut afterwards, for exampel change pics or add more referens to the short cut? How do I then get access to change it, is there a command to do that. Hope you understand what I mean, english is not my main language. 😀

Great Finds! I've also been treasure hunting in the numeric srefs. I'm focusing on the first thousand (0 - 999) and will be assembling some documentation from my finds soon. Love what you showed of your documentation in the video. I don't have a burner card loaded right now, but sometime this weekend, I'll buy your guide. One suggestion... give your viewers some instruction on saving these treasure for future use. I for example liked 5 out of these ten, so I ran the following commands to permanently record them in my preferences library on discord. (don't know if this command works on the website, but users there have unlimited prompt recall (up and down arrow scroll through every prompt you've ever entered) so maybe they don't need preferences as much as the discorders do. Here is what I used to save off my favorites... /prefer option set UncannyOrganicInvasion --sref 1754998710 /prefer option set TealSurrealscapes --sref 742258887 /prefer option set LuminousFantasy --sref 2764513718 /prefer option set VectorialExpressionism --sref 3479537113 /prefer option set ParticleBlack --sref 4010389984 Thanks again!

Amazing tutorial. Can you provide guidance on how to maintain a consistent character when using photos (family portrait)? I've tried uploading single/ multiple pictures to create some artwork, but the --cref option isn't accurate with photographs.
@woollyferncreative16 күн бұрын
Yes, --cref works best with images that were created by Midjourney. With some effort though, you might be able to get a Midjourney AI version of each person you upload. Use /describe on the uploaded image to see how Midjourney describes the image of the person. Then, use your uploaded image as an image reference (URL at the front of the prompt), followed by a Midjourney-inspired description of the person. With this approach you might be able to create an image that will give more successful results when it is then used as a --cref. No guarantees, but it's one way you can try to improve your --cref results when using an image of a real person.
