That's really cool. I use those discs on un upside down drill press. They really work well. I have a 6000 disc that came in the pack. I like how you used the sharpie pen to mark the surface. I was wondering if you use water???

Could you use an orbital sander instead of a drill? Any idea which would be better?
@RockhoundingLife2 жыл бұрын
You could for sure. I like this set up because i like how comfirtable it feels in my hands. Some peopl may like a sander or angle grinder better.
@valsummers53302 жыл бұрын
So if this was cut on an angle like 1/4 sawn oak…..might you get zebra stripes???, This is beautiful I’ve only seen folks using an angle grinder My grinder has no way to keep the switch on ON. I have a cordless drill I can definitely use a sprayer and I like the grid idea Oh the possibilities!
@RockhoundingLife2 жыл бұрын
Great idea! I bought a cheap drill instead of an angle grinder. It was less expensive and its easier to hold and polish the rock.

I've been contemplating on what my next step up is going to be from tumbling, been thinking of building a flat lap but this is another great option. How often do you have to wet your pads? During the FF sections it doesn't look like you're dunking that often.
@RockhoundingLife2 жыл бұрын
Hi Ken I wet them every couple of minutes. You can actually use them wet or dry. But I wet them to keep the dust down.
