Charles, Lewis and a Motivated Alonso are the only drivers that can challenge max week in week out, and out of them Charles is the only one who can seem to go wheel to wheel with max. People seem to forget because he has a mechanical DNF in Canada and a +100 second strategey at silverstone, and got taken out in autria, but hes finished top 5 in every race since Belgium last year

Thank you! It would be criminal if Bottas ends up without a seat whilst drivers like Perez have not only a seat, but a top seat. I think even people who have been working in F1 fall for the car being poor over the driver. Bottas is trouncing Zhou in quali and in races they had poor pit stops over the first few races. I did read that someone was looking at rallying, although it was from Peter Windsor and he didn't say who other than "not Max".

You're out of your mind! Sprint races are a fantastic way to level the playing field and keep things interesting. The top teams don’t push as hard, giving smaller teams a much better shot at scoring points-like Ricciardo in P5. Fewer laps also work in favour of the weaker teams, making the competition more exciting down the grid. If you don't like sprints, you might just be a fan of the big names and miss out on the thrill of the whole grid.

The only way the sprint makes sense is if they do an inverted order based on points, and it sets the precedence for the race order!

Generally, sprint races are interesting in feeder series because they usually implement some kind of reverse grid order to spice things up. Without that, there is no real point. Honestly, for F1, I think they should just scrap it. I'm surprised by how well sprint races are working in MotoGP though.

There is testing in mule cars available now. 10 days this year and 40 in 2025. I hope they still allow free practice due to this issue. If they want to amend it, then maybe two practice sessions maybe but they seem to be going the way of more sprint races, so not sure how they'll work it. Red Bull eras had more teams fighting in some years too, taking points off each other, but red bull had the edge with the blown diffuser cars of the Vettel era. Reliability and botched pit stops hampered Lewis in his McLaren days. Some of those years anyway, 6 DNF'S in one year where they were pretty competitive otherwise.

He had more DNF'S than others in 2010 too, one more than Seb for instance, twice as many as Alonso, whilst just 16 points off the lead. One second place finish may have won him the championship, or just finishing higher than Seb and on the podium would do, as it'd be -3 for Seb +15 or 18 or whatever for Lewis depending on win, second or third. It shows the importance of reliability too though. Alonso had a great 2012, but he also had almost excellent reliability and an easy teammate who helped. Not to take away from a great year from him as he did that despite a worse car than Red Bull and McLaren, maybe even Lotus Renault at points.

Even Bottas could qualify a car where it belonged, missed out on 2016 by 5 points because basically he had really poor luck. That's why I don't get when people compare Max' titles or Schumacher's. It's like defacto number one for them, poor teammates purposely imo. Most of Max' were no competition, or at best a clown show strategy team with Ferrari which was only good in quali for half the year, but outclassed in race pace and Deg. Getting all those records is easy when paired with Perez and a massively faster car. Not that Lewis didn't have some years like that, but always a rival, either Rosberg, Bottas, and Ferrari as main rivals, but 2017, 2018 and 2019 were actually competitive. I included 2019 as some races they won merely by being impossible to overtake in a straight line even with drs, such was their advantage with that err creative and toooootally legal PU! lol. Most years basically he had competition in some form.

Ford has a better history than Porsche in F1. There will still need to be some free practice or if a horror was to happen F1 would be legally obliterated, because a car fell apart at 190mph due to no setup and proper check time. I just worry about were is all the money coming for Astons expenditure, they don't sell a lot of cars, they don't command the big advertising fees, they way overpay Stroll, yep got some Saudi money, got some Honda money & building a new factory stuff but who owns the debt??? lewis is not quite as fast as he used to be, but better all-round driver.

They should come to the weekend with a race ready car. One practice session for fine tuning is enough and then lets get on with the racing! Practice sessions are boring for the fans and only let the best teams have more time to increase the gaps to the others. Show up ready to race instead of spending 3 sessions driving round not adding anything exciting for the sport or the fans. The sport will get more viewers and more ticket sales when there are points and grid positions on the line for the session instead of just fine tuning their cars more and more for each track. Practice sessions are boring and forcing the fans to listen to the commentators talk about nothing adds eff all to the sport.

Loic joined Mercedes in 2019, unless someone tells me he was the mastermind behind the DAS, I won't be impressed at all. More sprints, once upon a time I missed F1, now I am thankful the breaks, just too many races IMHO!
