O'Reilly has slowed down. Kadri would be a much better choice but Cowan, Minton, Grebenkin, Danford and our goalie depth are non starters. First 3 can all be around and serve a role in playoffs and excel in that role.

Leafs would only take Kadri at a severely reduced cap hit. Calgary would have to retain at least half the salary and Orielly left toronto because he didn't like playing under the media spotlight and I don't see that changing.

three questions: (1) if the leafs trade for o'reilly, who goes back to nashville? is nick robertson part of that deal? does he still want to leave toronto? (2) if the leafs pursue kadri, would the flames still be reluctant to help out their former gm, brad treliving? does the "bad blood" still continue between those two teams? (3) could the leafs use help on the blue line? could they pry cody ceci out of san jose, just as an example?

I don't think Kadri would be traded anytime this season. He has a no trade clasues. which seams that people don't understand that or no that. If the the Flames are still in the hunt in the playoffs he doesn't wave is no traded clauses.

I like Kadri, always did. They should have never traded him in the first place, but I really don't see them bringing him back..idk how they would afford it really..a long term contract with a fairly big cap hit. I wouldn't hate it, but just not sure how they would swing it. As for ROR I was excited when they traded for him, he's a very good 2 way center on a pretty decent contract, but I thought he made it clear that he didn't wanna play in Toronto ? 🤔 I do like the idea though..the Leafs need to win now, they can't worry about 5 years from now although they do have to be careful about trading all of their future away..but the number 1 priority is to win now plain and simple. If they could put together a package of a prospect, roster player and a combination of draft picks..it's almost a guarantee that Nick Robertson would be headed out in any kind of deal.

Nashville should trade Stamkos to Detroit for a 2nd if they have cap space or a player Nashville wants. Detroit will be stuck with that extra year. Can't have Forsberg, Stamkos, and Marchessault that is 3 right handers. C'mon man. Trouba has 2 years left. It sucks we don't have cap friendly anymore for the Red Wings cap. Former Edmonton Oil King Tristan Jarry for Skinner would be cool but it is over 2.6+ million in extra cap that Oilers don't have so I doubt it. Jeff Skinner and Stewart Skinner for Tristan Jarry? Jarry is OK he led the league in shut outs last year with 6. Who knows.

They had these guys and couldn't/can't afford these guys. Ryan O'Reilly was very critical of Toronto coaching. He was happy to get out. Not sure why Nashville would want to trade the reasonably priced center. Kadri is gettable but they can't afford him. They have nothing to trade and no cap space. John Gibson has been terrible for the last six years. The Oilers can't afford Gibson. If you wanted someone like Gibson they should have kept Jack Campbell. Grubauer has been terrible too. No one is picking him up.

If it's Kadri.. To CGY: David Kampf, conditional 2nd round pick that becomes a first if Toronto makes it to the conf finals, 2nd AND 3rd in 2026. To TOR: Kadri at 50% retained salary. If it were to be ROR... To NSH: David Kampf, Calle Järnkrok, conditional to the CGY deal, 2nd, 3rd in 26 and 2nd in 27. To TOR: ROR, 50% retained. 3rd party: 6 and 7 in 25, 5 in 26 and 4 in 27. A team like Utah or Columbus could help
