I absolutely agree with Joe about CGC. They took a loved hobby and twisted to make money for themselves by inflating market prices and setting grading standards that benefits their money making shemes.

I drove down with my son, from Atlanta and went by on Saturday morning. Joe is as cool in "real life" as he is on video. Great deals! If you within 8 hour drive I highly recommend checking it out. I will be at the next one.

Good call. CGC is a money machine. But they do provide a secure encapsulation for the book. I personally like CBCS better though.

He’s an idiot. He can’t prove anything that CGC gives better grades to anyone. And CGC waited almost 25 years to get into the signature verification game with cbcs. They didn’t give two shits about that for decades. As far as telling the difference between 9.9’s and 9.8’s, Joe hasn’t even looked at the book. He’s just an old fart that’s jealous that he hasn’t taken advantage of them and made more money.

At 24:56 Joe’s reply to what grade he has something at, “I don’t grade books, what do you think I’m CGC”. Folks, those are the words of a true coward. He’s been selling for decades and won’t even put his grade estimation on the books he sells. That’s the sign of an unprofessional person in this industry, to not even have the confidence to give a grade because he’s too afraid to be wrong. And if you think he’s being honest, think again. He absolutely has to come up with a grade to decide on a price. So by telling him he doesn’t grade, he’s actually being disingenuous. People need to stop treating this guy Joe like he’s the master of comics. He’s anything but. As the saying goes, the loudest ones who talk the most are the most full of shit. Joe personifies that.
