Even as an Airbus Fanboy, the PMDG lineup is awesome. Not sure why so many were quick to badmouth them as soon as the iFly was released. One really has nothing to do with the other. More aircraft, and more options, is always good for the sim community

You didn’t show too many turns, but I see the same herky-jerky turn entrance that the current 737 has. So maybe radius to fix turns are better? But it still seems like the herky jerky behavior is still there as is shown at time 9:10

@@ruitorres8177 Ifly team are aware and working on it. Not making excuses. Actually PMDG said it wasn’t possible to fix the spool up time because it was a limitation of the sim. There’s a lot that you guys refuse to or really genuinely don’t follow up on. I’m in the forums heavily and se most of the nonsense that PMDG posts. A lot of things deemed impossible now all of a sudden are being fixed. Hmmm cough cough. At least Ifly team isn’t making excuses they’re working on it

@@ruitorres8177 we don’t know what the future hold PMDG could come out blazing as well so I cannot comment on a product that hasn’t been released yet I can only go on what’s available now. The competition is not necessarily with the airframe itself as the max and NG are technically different airframes but same type rating. However I can speak on features and dev interactions. PMDG yes they’re great in many areas. However the overall picture shows that they’re arrogant and have been for years. I for one and grateful for the fact that they came out with better textures , sounds , features , even working with other devs like //42 with the immersion PMDG refused to work with them. Look at how they operate with GSX they don’t care. Now they are it out excuse. Get those textures up get the sounds right, things like that are what most people are talking about. Yes it’s a bit exaggerated heavier I don’t in this case see it as bad PMDG deserves it because as a customer dance FSX days while you didn’t have gun to ones head like others are saying what other option did you have for. 737 ? You had to take their word for it. Now Ifly has shown a cabin with working features is possible, cabin features are possible without sacrificing too much performance etc.

That's a huge part of the update (from a hype pov) because it means people in Xbox will now for the first time ever, be able to load navigraph nav data into the 737 on Xbox

I’ve always had respect for PMDG! I was excited when they first released the 737 a couple years ago! There 777 like got me attatched to where that was the only plane I would wind up flying for months! Cuz it was a phenomenal aircraft! Now, iFly has shown us what it can do and what they’re about, they’re tbh and fair here, they’re up to the level of Fenix!! But on par with PMDG!! We’ve always wanted a 737 that’s up to Fenix’s level! PMDG can absolutely still get up there! They just need to take that competition with iFly and try there product and they would be shocked to where they would learn massively

To be honest guys, I can't understand the fixation with wing flex. Who cares really what the wing flex looks like ? Is it that important ? I want a great flight model, good handling and a believable cockpit with all the underlying systems being modelled to high fidelity. I have the I Fly and the PMDG 736/7 and they are pretty much on a par for me. To say the PMDG is far far behind is totally stupid. Some things are done better on the IFly, some things are modelled better in the PMDG. I'm happy with both. All this negative PMDG bashing is really unnecessary and achieves nothing. No one held a gun to your head and made you buy it. I'd just like to see what all you guys think of both in 3 or 4 years ? I'll still be flying and enjoying what I have now.

You fail timeline if they’re going to charge $70 for an addon it better come as accurate as could be with the limitations of a desktop sim of course. It looks horrible. This negative PMDG bashing is warranted and it does change a lot. Imagine in the span since the fenix 320 released and the current renditions of the 777 many features that PMDG said weren’t possible are being added. Yes they’re things I agree are done better on either addon but the overall picture is PMDG has been bitching about this and that cannot be done or we’re waiting on Asobo blah blah. Fenix does not get this type of hate why because you can hardly find fault with their addons especially for the price and the devs make no excuses they’ll tell you hey this may not be able to be done right now but we are looking into it and when they can they add it. Both products, are in my opinion, very good, whether or not you believe the PMDG wing flex is horrible is your opinion. That's fine. But is that important in the context of a flight sim? Does a real pilot worry about wing flex ? I hope not. In the IFly Max-8 I can be a virtual FA and play around with the FA control panel, adjust the lighting, I can even go to the toilet and lift the lid and flush it, insane realism. But, is that important for a great pilot immersion ? No, I might do that once or twice, great fun, but its the fidelity of the flight model and systems that will keep me flying the plane , not the eye candy. Hats off to I Fly for pushing the bounds of what's possible. None of that detracts from the fidelity of PMDG's NG though. Its a solid faithful recreation of an iconic plane. I love flying it. That does not make me a fanboy. I just enjoy what they do which is why I bought their planes. You don't have to buy their stuff if it falls below your standard, yet you did, so its you that's uncomfortable. I am comfortable, but that's because I respect a product for what it is, not what I think it should be.

@@ronaldjames FSX had one critical weakness, it could only handle 2 GB memory so a long haul flight was impossible because the program would crash running out of memory. I still fly in P3D though and also X-Plane 12. I like the eye candy, just as much as everyone else, but its not all important, as long as the rest is believable. That is my point. Wing flex is just a tiny little feature for immersion in the cabin. It won't put me off flying a plane cos it ain't perfect.

I'd really like PMDG tablet to do fuel loading and pax loading just like the FBW a320, it so much easier & dynamic, you click a simbrief fuel & pax on tablet, with a fuel tank & seat plan diagram and click load with 3 set speeds option for both fuel & pax with real, fast & instant on the FBW tablet so I wish more did it this way. There a few more planes I'd like to get but atm I holding off all planes atm until I see what cost, speed of compatible 20 version to 24 as they all gonna need patching quiet a bit for 24. Also although there was a marketplace sale (I'm still not a fan due to drawbacks for marketplace planes for me) but I think PMDG are still missing a trick of doing a main site further discount when the Ifly MAx came out. The discount on the main web always been there, and 900 isn't discounted at all. I believe they would have sold a bunch more taking off 30% for a few weeks around the Max coming out. (they could even do a series pack & bit like Fenix have now?). Oh well I'm sure all the updates are improvements & welcome addition.

@@nspotmedia I'm not protecting them in any way 😂 - if I like their product that's on me and what I like, the wing flex does needs to be improved for example and I hope that is done in the near future, but it doesn't mean the rest of their update gets slammed constantly by a corner of the community. The iFly 737 MAX8 is incredible - I've spoke about that in my last few streams and videos for the release but that too has areas it can improve upon too like the nonexistent wing flex in flight for example and quick engine spool up. They all have areas to improve on, and the fact there is competition at the top of the market is great for ALL OF US. That's how things improve.

The animation during taxi is just incredible 😍I’m sure they gonna fix the inflight part as soon as they can. Flying PMDG aircrafts for over 12yrs (fsx, p3dv5 and msfs2020) I did start flying Ifly B73M and to be honest I'd love the Ifly much more. The only thing what Ifly has to still is to finish their efb. Missing the import and export option sending to fmc. But certainly I prefer the Ifly max over the pmdg. The update is just what thei already had in 777🤷‍♂️

Going back to this, I did say in the video that a lot of their learning on the 777 has ended up in the 737 and that's what this update is about 😅 better ground handling, ground effect, system depth tweaks, better nav database, smoother LNAV/VNAV

Thei provide always the same typ of aircrafts. Of course it is not their mistake, but to do another version ( will be already the 3rd) of the "queen of the sky (747) " (I believe it is the MD-11) pmdg should start new project with 787 series. Qualitywings did not renew their copyright in america and it would be great to see a 787 in pmdg fleets.

Weather radar is one of those things, like system failures, that people only want, when they don't have it. Nobody really uses, or reacts to a simulator weather. It's basically a gimmick people play with once or twice, then never really utilize. Funny how it's become such a torch to carry. The default weather radar is not just 2D as people like to say; which is straight from WT who kinda know a thing or two about MSFS avionics...LOL.

Fenix has it, as well as the Maddog MD-82. Apparently it’s literally about a 5 min programming job if the aircraft supports Hoppie, but looking at the forums PMDG appears stubborn on providing it…

@@SleepySleepy500 the 5 minutes is, if as a developer you just replace Hoppie with SayIntentions. If you want to give users the choice, that's more a job of 2-3h at least. But ofc the 5 minutes sounds nicer, so SayIntentions promotes that.

check your system configs, 777 FPS is great for the level of realism

To me it seems PMDG is releasing updates no one is waiting for. That means they‘re doing things behind the lines in codes of which the normal user has no visible effects. Engine sound would habe been much more important to be reworked e.g.

shows you how little you really know about how C++ and wasm work with the new platform. stability is NUMBNER ONE for any addon and because they are using C++ , they have to do a lot of work in the background. So, if stability is a thing no-one waits for, the YES, they are producing that type of update

Finally Rob and team is trying to catch up to the level of iFly Max 8 …… no questions, I love the max 8 with its early release flaws (if any) …. iFly is awesome .

so long story short its not a massive update, they're still using their blurry oudated texturing instead of modelling things, some of the model dimensions are still completely off, and the sounds are still horrific, cheers 👍

@@repysounds total shift to navigraph nav data format, enhancements to the UFT, in-sim navigraph data import (huge for Xbox-ers), improvements to ground effect, flight controls, LNAV and VNAV tweaks... It is a big update. No changes to visuals and sounds, sure - but I never disliked them before anyway 👍

As of me, I have been at this hobby for the last 14 years and coming from the FS2004 PMDG 737 where I first cut my teeth learning to fly a big modern virtual jetliner on a potato PC, this is truly beautiful. PMDG are the OG guys and their success is the reason that devs like iFly and Fenix exist and thrive. That said, I do love my Fenix A320-232 flying as much as my PMDG 737-700!

This developer has really become a disappointment in MSFS. They use to be the standard others aspired to be. Now they can’t seem to implement an accurate bank behavior on AP and neglect a number of systems in lieu of their “professional” line. The fact that they tell customers about a professional product line as a priority, thus intentionally creating “hobby” simulations pretty much tells you their priorities. PMDG helped create a trend of mimicking real world aircraft behavior. Not so much anymore.

PMDG wasting time with updates no one asked for so they can delay the aircraft everyone is asking for. Wow, I can update the Airac Cycle within the sim. How much time has that taken away from the rest of the 777 line-up? iFly needs all the support so they can grow and give us the planes PMDG are refusing to focus on by wasting time and resources to do everything else but finish a bloody aircraft series one after the other.
