I'm happy to see y'all catching flatties. I live near the Chesapeake Bay and I have only seen babies, lots of fish under 10" and I know of 1 keeper in May from the pier by my house. Bigger ones are being caught from boats but I haven't had my kayak out yet this year. Hopefully next weekend my crew will get together to fish the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel and the wind won't keep us away. Anyway, good luck. Looks like fun fishin' and talking smack with your buddies while you jig.

Are you bouncing that bucktail off the bottom or just above?
@nextdriftfishing6 ай бұрын
Great question. A little bit of both. The water temp was colder and I've found that larger fluke like less action so I was just touching the bottom and occasionally letting it hit hard was the method. As the water warms, I'll really try to jam it to the bottom and create a little cloud.

A little Vitamin SEA! I was sure Joey was going to be the hero but alas it was not meant to be.

You have one of the most informative fishing channel. Thanks for the work you put in. Is there a particular type of area you look for when targeting quality over quantity

Thank you very much, Bob! I really appreciate that. Season, migration routes, water temp and the type of bait in the area at the time are some of the considerations to catch bigger fish. Great question.
