Sweeeet, I could see you finding your groove near the end. If you got a corner scale, it would be really interesting to see the final weight and bias, stage 1 shark with hydra deck must be super light!

Thank you! I really did start having a ton of fun once I got the hang of it. Ill try to get my hands on a scale forsure! Your right its probably a big difference from a final form. It even has the lightweight clsd in it so it would be a good test subject! As always thank you for watching and adding extremely valuable commentary. I really appreciate it!

Sweet man, I can’t justify getting the new chassis as I wanted a shark for the adjustability, for addiction bodies…. But… are the mounting holes the same for that Hydra bumper, I would get that as I scratch built mine, no donor car (wouldn’t recommend lol, cost far too much in the end)😂
@SeanLewisMedia Жыл бұрын
The bumpers look like they should match without any issues! Thats what I really like about the shark is the ability to adjust everything. The donor car for me eliminated the headache of sourcing everything, but I now have 2 half rd1.0s in pieces all over lol

is the RD2.0 same base chassis as the YD and SD? might just get the RD 2.0 then get the shark kit if thats the case
@SeanLewisMedia19 күн бұрын
@@jaimechon1 that’s pretty much what I did so I believe it should work without to many issue. It will be a turning into a custom build so you’ll just have to be prepared to solve little challenges here and there but you should be fine. So far I have built two sharks, one out of a yd2 rtr and the other with the rd1.0 kit and both are great👍🏼

I am running into a problem. Maybe I can get your input. The gear box will not fit between the rear suspension blocks. Its looks like it needs a thinner suspension block. Have you seen or heard of this issue. Thank you in advance.
@SeanLewisMedia22 күн бұрын
Hey, I havent heard of that being an issue. Im not sure if something changed between the rd1.0 and the rd2.0 that has maybe cause that. Have you emailed the guys at Super-G? They for sure have the most tech knowledge on the current batches and can hopefully get you some help!
@garyvillanueva82522 күн бұрын
@SeanLewisMedia YES. I tried before I purchased the upgrade, but I did not hear anything. I figured they are so busy at the moment with so many events.... Anyways, I ordered a new suspension block. Hopefully, it solves the issue.

First off, thanks for taking the time to stop and help me out. I figured it out. It was the end cap of the gear box, I installed upside down. It seems to all fit properly now.

Have a yd2Z, like you started with - been thinking about upgrading to a shark, or switching to like an MC1 or something. What are your thoughts on how worth it of an upgrade the base shark is for a Z?
@SeanLewisMedia Жыл бұрын
I’m actually still running an almost completely base shark. I think the only real upgrade would be the hydra deck and that really isn’t necessary. If your ok with not having all of the aluminum arms and hubs to start than the shark is my choice. Plus you could always add them down the road if you wanted. I see alot of sharks and MC1 at the track so I know they both compete hand in hand with the right setup. It’s funny, there are some yokomo purist who really like the brand and driving it the way it was meant to, but then there’s the competitive group who love how crazy the tuning ability is on the shark. The shark is just a bit harder to tune to start, and that could be frustrating. Although worth the time, and I’m gonna keep trying to make videos to help people as well! Price wise the shark is a bit cheaper but you do use “used” parts from the donor car. That’s not a big deal in my mind, that stuff is easy to replace and upgrade as budget allows If you have any more specific questions let me know🤘🏼

Does this reflex hydra work for my yokomo SD chassis or is this only for the rhino shark chassis
@SeanLewisMedia4 ай бұрын
For a 100% accurate answer you should email Super-G, they will know for sure. I do believe almost everything will match but I’m not sure on the rear transmission screw hole pattern. I want to say the shark has the trans moved back and the holes may be slightly different. But again super-g would 100% know if you email them:)

What thickness is the bottom deck. Same 2mm as the top?
@SeanLewisMedia Жыл бұрын
Just broke out the calipers to check, and both measure 2.0mm.
@dstivens Жыл бұрын
@@SeanLewisMedia cheers dude. Makes sense that the standard set are the same and then tune with different thickness top decks.
