Lucky day reminds me of Ruby's bad luck in her first episode, maybe it goes beyond the Goblins thing meaning that there would be more to her that we don't know. Imagine if the answers we got about Ruby's origin in season 1 finale were a huge miss lead and turns out everyone was fooled (I kinda hope so tbh)

"Lux" is a measure of light. It seems that this will be for the cartoon character coming out of the screen, because he is literally made of light. I suspect that he'll burn away anyone he touches, like a sunburn but turned up to max. Lux may also be the name of a character or plot element within the story. That shot of the cartoon guy coming out of the screen looks fantastic.

Lots of Doctor Who episodes with happy sounding names end up being quite dark and depressing. "The Girl Who Lived" and "Heaven Sent" come to mind. Even just the name being positive makes me feel uneasy. :)

My theories: The Robot Revolution: Belinda finds herself whisked away by the Doctor (against her will) to a human colony which has been taken over by robots. The Doctor would broker a peace between the humans and the robots. The story arc will be established as the Doctor being unable to get Belinda back to 21st Century Earth as an elemental force is blocking him. Lux: The episode will be set in the 50s and will feature a new Pantheon God: Lux, the God of Film and Maestro's sibling. Mrs Flood will also appear but we won't yet find out who she is. However, she will say gravity instead of mavity to clue the audience in to her true identity. Five Miles Deep: This will be a cosmic horror story where the Doctor, Belinda and a group of people will go underwater on an alien planet and will encounter monstrous beings. Think Iron Lung meets Doctor Who. Lucky Day: This will be a Doctor-lite story focusing on Ruby's life without the Doctor. She will be hunted by an alien menace visible only to her that ruins her life and nobody else believes her. We'll also be introduced to her boyfriend who seems to be hiding something... I also believe that episode 5 will be written by Scott Hancock and episode 6 will be written by a new writer and possibly RTD. The finale will be written by RTD and I suspect the main villain will be the Black Guardian.

That does sound pretty great and I can it all happening. I think Mrs. Flood will be in more than one episode though, trust me she's gonna have a bugger role than the last series. I mean Anita Dobson has said herself that we will know everything about her by the end of this series. She was pictured filming in an old school outfit at some point, but it is actually different to the clothes we see her in during the teaser trailer if you look closely. The Doctor, Belinda and Ruby will probably start clocking on to Mrs. Flood when they keep seeing her all over the place. And all will finally be revealed in the last two episodes. I feel like, if the Black Guardian is the main villain, then it should be Mrs. Flood's true identity because it has now taken on a female appearance instead.

I believe sometimes when I show runner cowrites an episode it's about taking a more 'generic' Doctor Who episode and integrating season specific elements, like setting up the finale and getting the character work and dialogue for a new companion 'right'

„The Robot Revolution“ SHOULD absolutely be the Doctor returning to the scenario of the „BOOM!“ episode, maybe a bit later, and this will be where he picks up the new companion. Robots could be linked to Villengard again. Would be such a nice continuity thing. I know they will probably show her as a new character altogether working in a hospital, but I see this opportunity to get the actress continuity.

Lux just means light in Latin and is probably related to projector light in a cinema or pixels on a screen. It's also a unit of measurement for illuminance and also works as a portmanteau of "luminous flux". It's where the "Lux" comes from in "Luxray" which is just "Lux" + "x-ray". I think it was also the surname of the girl (and her family) in Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead, but that's probably just a coincidence. TLDR: Lux will be something to do with light. The God of Light, maybe?

This fits with my theory that they're building up to something with Silence in the Library! The sonic change looking more like a remote (Dr. Moon was planned to be a version of The Doctor), the 4th wall breaking, and the girl from Boom having strong similarities from Charlotte. Lux is the surname of the relative of Charlotte from Silence in the Library!

Expecting that Mrs Flood is a new incarnation of the Master of the Land of Fiction, especially given the increasing number of fourth wall breaks. The unusual events from the bi-generation onward are probably all some elaborate interference in the story of the "show" on her part, and I'm expecting things will become more and more "meta" and self aware as the series goes on. Even in the Christmas special we had the Doctor able to buy Tardis merch online. I can imagine the show going in some wild self-referential directions with this if they really push it, the Doctor noticing the camera crew, Mrs Flood in a director chair etc, very WandaVision, which would line up with Russell's intention to "MCU-ify" the Whoniverse.

My theory is that she's either one of the Gods of Ragnarok (who makes people miserable for their own entertainment, she may even be behind the cartoon coming to life) or the White Guardian who is genuinely concerned with the Doctor's wellbeing (since she seems to be on good terms with him and even seemed delighted when he defeated Sutekh).

if u dont have a writing credit on the episode its harder to get royalties from it, iirc correctly RTD advised chibnall to put his name on anything he did rewrites on during his tenure as showrunner so I would presume that is why rtd is cowriter on these. Also Lux is latin for Light which yknow. the cinema.

I truly hope not. It's a BBC show known all around the world as a British icon, and it reinvents itself with every new Tardis team & show runner... I think they just need to find another strong writer & fan like Stephen Moffat who can take it from RTD and run the show as Moffat did... With mostly good writing, and an awareness that you'll never make everybody happy-- especially those people that don't realize that you have to have sadness and happiness for drama to make sense and be effective.

Because science fiction is, and always has been political Dune, Foundation, Star Wars, Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, and Doctor Who are all political. I also wouldn't dismiss a writer just because they haven't written Sci-fi before. Steven Moffat was a comedy writer. RTD had dabbled slightly into Sci-fi with things like Dark Season, but it was really Queer As Folk that made higher ups view him as someone capable of the job. Chibnall had been the writer with the most sci fi experience before being showrunner having ran Torchwood series 1 and 2, and look how "fans" reacted to that.
