So...the BBC has hired Juno Dawson who has a section in one of their CHILDRENS books instructing on "How Sex App Work" complete with bullet points saying to download the app which tells them where they can find local people then chat to them then meet up with them! I can't condone an organisation who would hire such an individual. Accept this is not about Dr Who anymore.

I mean I'm not a fan of McTighe but I think under a better showrunner, he might produce a good episode. Overall though I'm glad we're getting new writers and new ideas, they might turn out to be bad but I'd rather see something different than something rehashed.
@robalexander80658 күн бұрын
@MrJ.Smith1234 A fair analysis. Agree, something fresh (that may or may not work) is at least worth a punt. "Same old, same old" RTD/Moffat needed to take a back seat. I can appreciate RTD wanted a "safe pair of hands" on board to relaunch the series but good to see a more mixed writers room overall.
@MrJ.Smith12348 күн бұрын
@robalexander8065 Don't get me wrong, I loved RTD and Moffat during Russell's first era. RTD had a clear direction for Doctor Who and Moffat contributed some classic Episodes. I honestly think that's wear the pair peaked as writers IMO. But of course that was over 15 years ago and now with Russell rehashing previous ideas and refusing to answer plot holes, I think it shows a clear tiredness in the writing. And if we see a difference in the quality of Doctor Who next season with new writers, then I guess we'll have an answer to how to revitalize Doctor Who.

Cautiously optimistic, glad to see some new younger writers to hopefully give us a fresh spin, something the show is struggling with under the same small pool of writers, like it only struck me recently that off the top of my head, I can only think of two other non-white writers, for the show at least, both of which had to share at least one script with Chibnall so it's alot more underrepresented than the rage baiters would pretend. Also nice to have some from expanded media make their way onto the show. McTighe is the one I'm most mixed on, he's not terrible, love his box set trailers and Praxeus is pretty good once I got over the lack of sea devils, Kerblam was undermined by it's messy ending a lack of a clear stance on it's subject matter, something I hope he's learned from. Would've preferred maybe Wilkinson or Patel back.

Your issue lies with the Wardrobe department not with the writing. Unless Ncuti/RTD has some long term plan to make you wear a dress, I think you are being a bit of a drama queen, Ncuti was raised in Scotland and therefore likes wearing them no big deal, I doubt they care if you prefer trousers. Like McTighe, though as Tharries says his work for the Jodie era isn't his best. The others are unproven in terms of the main show but I can appreciate they were brought in to give the main cast a "truer voice".
