I happen to *adore* the way deep skin tones look, as the skin has such a supple reflective quality to it in my opinion, and is brought to life even more with bright colored clothing and makeup! For me, wearing bright colors washes me out, and its kinda hard to be reflective when you're already the color of paper!! haha... Sandy J In case she doesn't answer, if you can't go to a makeup counter the best way to tell is... Look at the veins on your wrists...if they are blue you are likely cool and if they are green you are more likely warm Secondly if silver jewelry looks more flattering against your skin...you are likely cool toned and if gold is more flattering...you are more likely warm toned. If the viens are not predominantly one color and both look equally flattering you may just have a neutral undertone which is a bit yellow toned:) This doesn't 100% work but it does for many people including me!

Sandy J : I think trial and error is your best bet too. Buy some cheap foundations in warm, cool, and neutral tones. If you're light skinned, its easy to tell bc warm tones will look more yellow, and cool tones will look more pink. Neutral tones wont be heavily either. Try them on and look at how you look in a lot of different lighting. Take pictures in the different lighting and look at which one looks the most natural. Don't neglect being neutral, I discovered I am neutral toned, being more yellow in the summer when I tan (I'm mixed Filipino if that helps). Once you've found one that works, go to findation.com and put in your shade. That site will give you other foundation brands and what shades should also match you. Good luck, you can do it!
