Huge sole in the Bristol Channel

Love sole fishing. Best I've had was 1 3/4 lb. Was massive and so strong. I have also kept 2 alive in the bath once and returned the next day - in fresh water. Used to catch loads years ago.

We don’t use beads/bling for the sole but do for most other flatfish. It has worked up to now but there are no rules in fishing so use what works for you. Thanks for watching!

Is mud worm any good for targeting Sole, or would you say Ragworm is better

We use king ragworm and haven’t changed because it works very well and can be cast a good distance when required. It’s what most people use around the upper channel. Mudworm/maddies are present in the channel so should work fine also

A place known as Farmfields near Goldcliff, Newport
