This video was very interesting to watch! I also use to have the mentality that I was "wasting" stickers when I use them, but then I realized that I'm wasting them by not using them. Now I just use what I have and if it runs out I can always get it again if I like it, or use it as an opportunity to buy a new sticker sheet that I've never bought before! It feels more fulfilling when a sticker sheet is used up and I can get another one lol

I definitely relate to having excessive stationery because i was absolutely convinced pretty stationery would magically make my spreads prettier, and make me study better lol Learned the hard way, time and time again, that np, having cute stationery won’t make your grades increase and only hard work and revision will do so lol

i completely emphatise with the "fear of wasting" stickers which leads me to purchase more and more only to hoard it. this past few months (and going forward) i have been trying to use more of my stickers because i realised that i feel greater joy using it rather than keeping it stowed away in my many sticker binders that i have come to purchase as a result of my hoarding. oddly, like homework/studying, the hardest part is really starting to use it haha

sjkhdfaslj i developed the scarcity mentality with anything ever since i was really young, probably 4-5 years old. I remember buying multiples of the same stickers to save as backup, choosing the least appealing thing to save the most appealing one, etc. It's been so hard to break through this almost 2 decade habit.

You put the h in tbh💙 Your stand on capitalism in studytube/studygram community is the first thing I noticed when I consciously started watching your videos. It was one of the reasons I stuck to this channel although I don't follow studytube channels a lot despite my maddening love for stationery and anything that relates to art or learning or writing. You are simply an inspiration. P. S. Your voiceovers always make my day.

my category I hoard the most in is highlighters haha - like who needs over 30 highlighters? All you need is at most a solid 5 to keep you going
@aikolouise63043 жыл бұрын
Because of you i was inspired to do a stationery no buy because my problem was mainly buying too much stickers, memo sheets, and washi tapes. I don't really have problem in terms of highlighters and brush pens cause i use them a lot not just in my journal but also in my artworks. So yeah i just need to stop buying memo sheets/pads and stickers because since the day I started buying them some of the first purchases I'm still using it and it will probably took years. I don't really have a problem on not being able to use my stationery because i would feel wasting my money if I'm not using them so i do use them and my style of journaling is random like a scrapbooking type of journal i design with different things.

sticker, especially the most precious one is so harder to use, and I ended up as a hoarder.. but after I inspired by your no buy policy, now I force my self to use it on my journal excessively, at first I tought that my collection last for a year, but its been two year now, and its feel like I still have bunch of them

for those of y'all with sticker commitment issues... when you're first choosing to place the sticker just cut it out of the sheet but don't take the backing off. use painter's tape to temporarily stick it somewhere and if you still like it after a few days, take the backing off and make the commitment :)

i definitly learnt something here. in total i have 179 stationery items. uhmm most of them are markers and highlighters ill try to go on a no buy too
@viviansmith8036 Жыл бұрын
Washi tape that doesn't unroll because it's too sticky needs to have the adhesive reheated in the microwave for 4 seconds or so or you can use the hairdryer then it works fine until it hardens again. Same with markers that dry up because they are not stored on their tip the ink dries in the middle of the marker because it's laying flat. By taking the tip of with pliers or gently with scissors you put a few drops of water to rehydrate the sponge in the middle and it will work for another few months. Many KZbin videos on this

a way i get around the idea that im wasting my stickers is using them in my sketchbook, cause then i have more places to use them in and i go back to previous sketchbooks to look through them so i see them more often, i dont normally do that with my bujo

I've finally broken my sticker hoarding tendencies because I am privileged enough to own a Silhouette machine and I can afford to buy bulk sticker paper, so I have sworn off buying ANY more stickers and I now only buy print and cut files from small businesses. I can use any sticker I want without fear because if I really want another one, I can just print another one! It's also kept me from buying all the basics I used to get over and over- I can print dots, solid strips of color, patterned "washi" tapes and so many other things just by drawing the shape I need and picking any color I want! Now if only I could stop buying freaking PENS. Lol. I know what kind of pens I like and will use, and I have largely shifted to buying refills for my faves, but darn if I'm not a sucker for cute new pen bodies!!

This was such a nice video. Although I don't hoard stationary anymore, but I still have the urge to buy anything I find cute or something that's trendy. Through your video, I felt that i am not alone in this domain of wanting to buy a ton of stationary items and not using them. We can always declutter and donate obviously.

What’s wrong with Aliexpress? What makes the stores there not ‘authorized’? Almost all known shops (Amazon, etc) buy and resell from China (Aliexpress), unless that shop is designing *and* selling.
