Huge Stock up at the Grocery Discount Store - A 2.5 hour Family Road Trip

Food costs rise but our incomes don't. We budget what we have, supplement items by shopping discount stores, and make smart choices; packing a lunch and cooking at home. But, we do it as a family. Safeway had an insane deal on bacon 2 weeks ago, the 3 lb thick cut deli grade bacon for $1.79 a lb, you could get 2 plus there was a $2 off coupon that could be used on any meat/seafood purchase so I got 6 lbs of beautiful thick bacon for $8.74. They had it this wk for $2.79 a lb which is still an incredible deal so I got one more because this is the bacon that's usually over $7 a lb, right now without the coupon they're $22 a pack & I ended up getting 3 of them for around $17. This wk they also have cabbage for $0.09 a lb

In Orlando we have a place called UAP and they get lots of stuff donated from frito lay, Trader Joe’s Coca Cola and lots more but our prices are super cheap we get three boxes of name brand cereal any size including giant size for 3 for $1.99 breads are free all entemains bakery goods are free, giant boxes of individual chips it has like 50 bags are $1.99 and lots of other stuff

Thank you - I thought so too. But funny thing is when I got home it didn’t look like a lot- then I remembered the value of the cases of nuts and dish detergent then felt much better . . And oh my- something as simple as my flavored cream cheese for my bagels brings so much joy 😀 It’s the little things and like you said- a good price

Uh oh - I’m pretty sure it’s Dawn Dishwashing liquid in Apple Blossom. . . Hmm second guessing. Just looked- so relieved. It’s dishwashing detergent. Lol - I’m glad because if was a hard soap I can’t honestly say I’d quit using it because it cleans so well 😂
