Rarely do I see people make this style box the way I think is correct. This is right. Putting those strips in the port down the sides gives the port wall something to sit on, bracing, and keeping the port perfectly even all way thru.

Yep yep, I feel bracing is often overlooked in a ton of enclosures that i see. Thats why when I build i always over brace while still leaving lots of airspace if possible. I appreciate you noticing the small things :)

i used to work for rex lumber and made all the panels for steinway pianos . the box in my exporer sport is a danley tapped horn made from 13 ply with amber veneer on the outside . for subs im using 4 jld audio ext18d1 and have 2 teampie tp7500.1 and a tp2504 powering 2 pair of polk mm6 momo speakers . ewcs 2/0 welding wire 2 prius batteries . 2 300 amp 1 wire LActrical alts . fire hd 10 tablet for a headunit .

Real nice build. Sad the cost of the wood nowadays and the quality, price goes up quality goes down. I remember paying 18.50 for mdf and 24.00 for pine like what you have in this video :D

Yes, but tbh. As long as you brace properly you can use almost any decent wood. Especially if you are layering.
