My favorite train song of all time: "In The Middle Of The House" And you can find it here on KZbin {EDIT: "Just checked and yes, it's{they're} still here"}. It's about a train that runs right through the middle of a families home. Look it up if you've never heard it. It IS Hilarious! There are several artists that sung it, I think the newer version was by Vaughn Monroe. EDIT: The original artist was Rusty Draper and was done in 1956. It was one of the top 20 on the 100 record charts in 1956.

An Awesome video. The last time I saw a 5 locomotive train was a few years back when I was living in the Chicagoland area. I had never seen one of this size in Florida. Thanks Jaw Tooth
@HolidayDecorator6 жыл бұрын
Saw one go through Winter Park numerous years ago when I could still drive, it had 8 locomotives on it and was one of the double stack container trains if I recall the train consist, it was going Southbound to Taft yard. It dropped off 2 in Taft, don't know where the other 6 ended up being dropped or went. Same train got into trouble for being too long, because it wouldn't fit in any of the sidings to allow Amtrak to get by, so all Amtrak trains got holed in the sidings so it could get to Taft yard, since nothing would be dropped off anywhere before Taft yard. If I recall, I believe he said he had around 506 cars, add 8 Locomotives, nope, not going to fit the sidings in my area {Orlando, Winter Park}. He wouldn't fit any sidings from Deland to Orlando}. I do seem to recall in Taft yard, they did make them break the train into 2 or 3 trains, as that was the only area they could accomplish that. Fortunately Taft Yard was almost completely empty when this one came through the area. Maybe that's why they had 8 locomotives pulling that monster! Dispatcher really gave that one a hard time about that. And that was the LONGEST train I ever saw in Florida. Took around 25+ minutes to get completely past the station, and he was calling signals by the Amtrak Depot in Orlando and there were still cars coming around the bend with no end of the train in sight in Winter Park! Finally the end of the train passed by and he was calling the signals {I forget what they call that area now, it's just a small yard, very small}, but it's where the Barnum and Baily Circus trains were always parked in Orlando when the circus was in town. Thanks to PETA, the circus is no more, and so are the circus trains. :(

@@jackscott7237 I think that's the only time watching a train and I didn't have a camera. Dropped it and killed it the same day this monster came though. Oh, I was mad at myself, had dropped it before and it always worked, guess it just got one jolt too many. So I went to watch trains, and when this one came though, I never thought I'd hear myself say this about a train, but I said to myself, good grief where and when is the end of this train going to come by? People at the crossings were really getting upset, they'd drive off to go to another area to get around the train only to find every crossing blocked from winter Park to Orlando. One guy saw I had a scanner and asked me did I know when and how long MY train would take to be clear of the crossing. Said I don't work for the railroad, I just like to watch trains, and proceeded to tell him I'd already been there about 15 minutes with this train alone. And that it had 8 locomotives and 506 cars in it's consist. He said I'm already late for work, any way around it? Said nope, the locomotives are currently calling signals in Orlando, just a little past the Orlando Amtrak Depot. And it's still rolling around the curve down by the signal where the single track comes around a curve before it meets the double track {only about a minute or two ride over to that location from where I was}, so I drove over there to see if I could see the end of the train, could see the train bridge where it crosses over 17-92, and there were cars still rolling along on it, and as far back as I could see was nothing but train! I did ask the guy if he knew the area well enough to take some back roads where he could get around the train, unfortunately he had just moved to Florida and didn't know the roads too well yet. So that was out. I just know my way around the area by sight, but even though I live here, I still don't always know all the names of the streets. Don't know how late he was too work, but I'll bet that monster made a lot of people late to work, and late getting home.

If I could get this manufactured home of mine cleaned up, Jawtooth would be welcome to have a place to stay for a week or two. if he needed it. But currently I've got way too much clutter {mainly totes all over the house and in our two spare bedrooms} to host company. {if these things came with a garage, that's where all this stuff would be located!| But currently nowhere to put it at the moment, trying to work on getting a storage shed, but being on a fixed income makes that close to impossible! Plus he'd have to tolerate 11 cats, 5 we're watching for our former roommates who crashed in our living room for a while. 6 are own own. Longest freight train I’ve ever seen! Who is cooler? Jaw Tooth or Millennium Force?
@HolidayDecorator6 жыл бұрын
No offense to either of those two, but Danny Harmon makes the best train videos hands down. His narration is always consistent, he gives background and some relevant information on the train{s} and never any wind noise or cursing in any of his videos. His videos are always the best out here. Again no offense to the others that make train videos, I'm subscribed to a lot of them, those two above included. Each has their own style and flair, and all make some really cool train videos. Otherwise I wouldn't stay subscribed to them!

Great video. That second unit was a bit smokey, needs a fitter!
@HolidayDecorator6 жыл бұрын
I've seen worse from some of those diesels smoking. Even saw one still in the Chessie paint scheme many years ago, and it was not only spewing smoke, but sparks as well as when they revved it up, flames shot out the stack about 3-4 feet high. That was an awesome sight to see for sure. I had videoed it, but a HD crash as I was making a backup wiped a ton of my train videos out. ugh! :( And my G scale diesels all have smoke units, now if they could just make black smoke fluid for the smoke units in our model trains, instead of the whitish-grey smoke they produce, that'd be awesome! Be even more awesome if the electronics in the models could also reproduce the smoke like the real ones do, light if slow, moderate if running a bit faster and heavy if really hauling along down the rails. One can dream. LOL

As long as it's not when you can't hear the train passing. I love the sounds of a train going down the tracks. I can't really think of much times to fit any music in especially now how hard it is to have music on your videos without some music producers trying to claim your whole video because you had 20 seconds of the radio on in it. That algorithm KZbin uses is nuts and not worth the risk.
