Coach Grubb was actually supposed to be the OC… Sherridan was the TE coach for Washington under Deboer… so whose system do you think he’s running!? Give these young coordinators time to grow and develop. Play calling is art in itself and sometimes takes a minute to get your guys in that fits your scheme and has to develop chemistry and rhythm calling plays for the group.

People forget that last portal cycle, Alabama was handcuffed because they couldn't go to the portal when Saban retired. Players were allowed to leave and Bama wasn't allowed to backfill. I full expect DeBoer to get the guys that fit what he wants to do with his scheme. He made due with the players he had this season that perhaps were good players, but didn't FIT. People highly underestimate FIT. Also, with Keelon Russell coming in, he's DeBoer's style of QB and he will turn him into a beast.

Yes. And didn't have the commitment and patience to stay work learn and earn his spot on the football field. Not many do this day and age. That's what NIL and the transfer portal have done to college football. And it's not the kids fault it's the adults in the room that made the decisions to take college football down this Rd. There's no guardrails. This portal is insane. Odom wasn't productive. He played repeatedly throughout the year and just didn't do anything. Whether that was on him or Milroe, idk. But, the biggest need for Bama is at WR. They need more guys at WR that get separation. I don't know who will be QB1 assuming Milroe leaves(Or even if he doesn't, idk). Simpson and Mack are both legit options. Mack could have greater upside than Simpson. Then you have Russell coming in too. There's also some new backs coming in. How is the O-line looking? Aside from the line, I think WR is the spot that needs players.

His play calling was garbage. Dude had no idea how to scheme routes, had no idea how to adjust mid game, and had no clue how to call a game without running Milroe 25 times a game.

@ I would run Milroe 25 times a game as well. I learned early on as an athlete, the coach can have the team as ready as possible, if the team doesn’t execute that is on them. He may call the plays, but the kids have to execute. It is easy for us to sit on our couch and criticize play calling, if we have never done it. We have a vantage point that he doesn’t have. The OU game aside, Bama missed big shots against Vandy and Tennessee that cost them the game. The only game I feel play calling cost us was against OU. That was downright terrible.
