guys what is your trick for the gopro, not to get any water drops? tried so much things and at the first kajaking scene he smashed the water in his face and there was nothing at the cam... is it a special wrap or sth?
@Senders6 жыл бұрын
Dude, I struggled with this for so long. You have to lick your Gopro lens and then dunk it underneath the water!

oh really simple :D I'll try that, thanks

When I see some kayakers throw their paddles as the plunge over before they hit - is this because they are afraid that the paddle may cause their arms/hands to violently snap back on impact and possibly cause injury?
@toddbuh5 жыл бұрын
they throw it to prevent it from breaking at the bottom. good paddles are $500 or more.
@lloydgoldsworthy26434 жыл бұрын
Yes if you hold on sometimes you can have the impact of the paddle smacked against your face
@Cavetrolling2 жыл бұрын
3 reasons: 1)Paddle breaking on impact. Expensive and creating a sharp object in violent water. 2) Paddle catching water resistance due to bad angle and getting pushed hard into your face 3) Paddle catching water resistance due to bad angle, holding on to it to hard and dislocating/tearing/breaking something Throwing it is generally safer than just letting go and keeps the paddle away from the parts of the fall that might recircuate it and/or get stuck

Reason #4 it looks cool as hell. Some people hang on to it and just put it parallel with the kayak to the side for the same reason but it doesn’t look nearly as cool

Why does that big waterfall not keep dragging them under is the big ones not like a low head dam
@toddbuh5 жыл бұрын
low head dams usually create a straight hydraulic with no corners ( your way to get out) so it can be impossible to get out. big waterfalls don't create a keeper hole. when stuck in a hole and everything else has failed, the best thing to do is let it push you down under the hole so you can get into the green water below the hole and let it push you downstream beyond the hydraulic. in extreme circumstances you have to cut off or remove your pfd to allow you to go deep enough to escape the hydraulic.

Yo im wondering what it is that pushes this sort of mindset even when your friends in front of you are getting hurt. Like one comment after the other shit just sounded pretty bad and then one of my favorite kayakers Bren, just launches himself. what the fuck makes you want to send this obviously risky shit?

these guys are so stupid! first guy hits bottom! Second guy hurts arm and third guy deems the drop safe? What are you thinking?
@Senders7 жыл бұрын
Haha, I see your point. But the fist guy (Adrian) didn't hit the bottom hard enough to injure himself and I felt very confident that I wouldn't go deep enough to hit the bottom any harder than he had. The second guy hurt his arm because he twisted in the air and his tuck technique wasn't perfect, that could happen on any waterfall and again I felt confident I could avoid having that happen to me.
