Gotta say the version w/ the wood scales is great looking.

Awesome review, glad to see it did well in your testing, exactly what it was designed for! The thumb studs are definitely something to be mindful of and I go back and forth on them, they have better grip and make the knife really fun to fidget with, just have to be careful about pulling the knife out of your pocket at an angle, pulling it straight out usually isn't a problem. Regarding the polished liners, that was actually a surprise to me as well since the prototypes were not polished and were easier to disengage the lock, but Artisan confirmed that future batches of the Ahab will not have polished liners thankfully.

Thanks for the cutting tests - most knife videos that I've seen just keep opening and closing the knives, talking about how much they love them.

Hey brother, where would you rank this knife among the cutters you have tested ? Can you give me the names of the ones that outperformed this one, thank you 🙏🏼

I like it . The handle reminds me of the two sun by Bill Notti. It could have been straighter there but but that little hump feels ok . I think the blade shape is like this too . Yeah man . I ll bet it swings nice with creamy drop

i handled one of these at a show last week, the weight really caught me off guard. It's a really nice piece and i plan to get one in the near future.

I'm getting one as soon as they are in stock at Blades Canada. I'm thinking of grinding off the harpoon. I'm not hunting whales. 😑

It gives you better ergos actually. That area is good for your thumb to get up close

The poon' is what gives this knife its great aesthetic and own personality. If it wasn't a harpoon it'd be a basic run-of-the-mill drop point with G-10 scales. And as stated in the previous comment, it's excellent for thumb rest when doing push cuts.

Reminds me of a flat Viper Rhino... Nice, but Prefer the Rhino.

It's a great looking knife. I love the cleaver type blades. Does the RPM90 steel need an exspensive sharpening system like the S35V & M390? I got started on knives because of Mike Emler and his Artisan Cutlery Sea Snake. Beat the crap out of the knife for 2 years and it's still razor sharp. 🤣🤣 Once it finally needs sharpening you know I gotta throw that sharpening job to Mike himself. So he can make it 'Crazy Sharp' AGAIN 😉

This such a great 👍 looking knife 🔪 Mr Stassa. Wonder how that wood one would feel and handle. Appreciate it once again. ✌️

Nice review though i definitely will not be purchasing any blades from Artisan Cutlery after my experience w/ my Cygnus. Long story short, they could not send the proper part to fix vertical blade play (w/ blade closed), then sent a replacement knife that had a bent blade (for which i had to pay customs chgs. Now they do not respond at all. Thanks a bunch Artisan. :|
