Nah, it’l be fine.” *BOTH cars spin, almost collide, one slams the wall, flips, gets destroyed, both burst into flames* “Did someone mention sweeping earlier? No? The great problem was obviously how dirty was the virgin concrete, all that sand makes it impossible to have traction. I'm not the guy who wants to blame the driver, but it's also important to keep in mind the fuel tank position. It crushed against the wall, pouring gasoline all around the surface. So, it's recommended to install the tank in a better protected place in the next one. But the most important is that you're safe to stay with us now. 👍

You cant glue it/prep it until its had passes either. its something that happens when you overhaul a track. @lfrankl533 жыл бұрын
@@Donniec685 New tracks are built and old ones are upgraded with new surfaces all the time, but you will NEVER see this happen at a sanctioned event. Just for starters, the loose dust is about as dangerous as a wet track so just a good sweeping alone would have been a massive improvement. Professionals race higher horsepower than this on virgin tracks all the time at sanctioned events because the sanctioning body thoroughly preps the track by not only sweeping the new track clean, but by coating it from the starting line to the traps with many layers of a number of traction compounds on the market. They would never send these high horsepower cars down an unprepped new track rolling the dice until enough rubber got laid down. That's just brainless. It's hard to tell by watching this if the fire department was even on the premises before the crash. The whole thing looks like a stupid stunt organized for a KZbin video where the spectators came more to see crashes instead of good heads up drag racing. And they got what they wanted - they saw a ton of money and hundreds of hours of hard work and engineering needlessly destroyed in an inferno. But for any of a number minute variables, they could have been smelling flesh burning also.

[apologizing in advance - you unintentionally gave me some rant fuel, LOL] Because they already wasted all of their time & money prepping their car and hauling it out for this race - you know how human minds work, when you put so much investment into something, it's that much harder to turn it around and say "not today, boys, call me for the next one...". Especially when you sprinkle in a little ego(because these are humans/males/racers/no-prep racers) and a bit of social pressure, and suddenly there's a LOT of variables manipulating someone who may otherwise make rational choices. And, this is why I've ALWAYS argued that a full stop "you release the track of all responsibility" waiver is unacceptable(not to mention its legally unenforceable in cases of REAL negligence, arguably like this case - but more so all the shit hole "old school" tracks still running guardrails, dangerous as all fuck - because of "implied duty of good faith & fair dealing" that legally applies to all contracts) and a BS cop-out, and that the responsibility is on the track owner to make the track objectively safe by any reasonably modern standard(seriously, this isn't rocket science) for the drivers, and NOT the driver's responsibility to be able to make a rational safety decision when their thoughts are being manipulated by all the money they put into the car, all the work they put into the car, fuel & timing traveling to the event, social pressures, etc. Not to mention, all you're thinking about is "...OK, I didn't forget a bolt somewhere, right? What kind of learning curve are these changes going to bring? Am I gonna be able to figure out this surface?", this isn't the person who should be expected to make a rational decision. Rather, drivers shouldn't HAVE to worry about the safety of a track, especially a modern facility like this that's seen a lot of investment. I mean, this wasn't a tightwad track owner that won't reinvest - no, this was a crew that got just a little too cute on no-prep weekend with fresh concrete that obviously hasn't even been cleaned. And this 'cute' choice cost a couple guys a shit load of time and money, when it didn't have to be this way(not to mention wasting everyone else's time since they didn't even make it past the first round of racing). This was pure and utter dumb decisions that drivers shouldn't even have to worry about a track crew possibly making. I certainly don't want anyone's head on a stake or anything, this wasn't the result of carelessness(that's a REALLY nice looking track after all), it was just some dumb decisions - but HOPEFULLY this can at least be something that EVERYONE in the community can learn from, and we can stop playing these stupid games of trying to race on more and more dangerous surfaces. No-prep doesn't have to be dangerous - there's no reason why it has to be anything beyond a clean safe environment that, you know, hasn't been prepped like a drag strip during radial weekend. No one gets bonus points for the surface being worse than any other surface, this glorified 'russian roulette' is getting ridiculous.

those poor guys who worked on that car all for it to be totaled because of a track flaw. obviously more important that everyone got out alright but its still tragic to see that

track flaw?.....every racer makes their own decision to race.......as adults we all make choices....good or bad

Its not a track flaw. They specifically wanted to run it this way. Before a regular event the track operator would have prepped the back half.

@@damienbuzz You are totally correct, I also blame the owner, he could have at least Blown off and washed the Track down, our local track reground the concrete and took 3 days washing and blowing it off until it was clean, it seems this track used the racers too do the job.

It is not a track flaw it's a no prep street racing event.usually they scrape the track down to bare concrete but have never seen one on new concrete like this.I have witnessed many many fast cars run on no prepped concrete (preferably) rather than asphalt.it sucks but all these racers new what they were getting into and the risks involved every time they run their car.we have all seen horrifying crashes on very well prepped tracks at sanctioned events. Its just part of the sport

@@MrFlareone I understand its a no prep, but none of these drivers could have accurately predicted how hard they were able to run their cars under these conditions, and as a result, crashes like these happen. No one is denying that these racers knew there were risks, because thats how every race works regardless. It seems as if none of these racers were fully aware of just how bad the conditions were, which is why its really unfortunate to see something like that transpire

Always amazes me how these tracks never learn and are always woefully unprepared for a fire. The most dangerous thing that can happen, and they’re not ready.
